On last night's How To Look Good Naked, Gok's Naked Army were slathering on the fake tan like it was going out of fashion in a bid to find the best self tanner out there. They tried four offerings of wildly varying prices from four different manufacturers, and gave them a rating based on things like ease of application, colour achieved, and, er, how stinky the tan was. And here's how the results stacked up:
- 4th place: Lancaster Satin Bronze Dry Oil SPF6 (63% would purchase themselves)
- 3rd place: Rodial Brazilian Tan (66%)
- 2nd place: St. Tropez Auto Bronzant (71%)
- 1st place: Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer Dry Body Mist (76%)
Have to say, I was more than a little shocked by the verdict. On the few occassions that I tried the Ambre Solaire stuff, I found it streaked like a mother ('No Streaks' me eye) and went absolutely everywhere.

Although in fairness to the testers, trying four products isn't exactly exhaustively examining all the options, is it? No, no it is not. It's a crying shame that such a wildly popular programme doesn't drum up more volunteers from the millions of women in the UK and conduct some really comprehensive tests on different product groups.
Anyways, what do you make of those results?
