Best necklines for every boob size: and how to do Side Boob

There are lots of celebrities working the trend for side boobage, which got me thinking about which neckline flatters your boobs the most. Side boob is really only a look for those who have perfect figures  - or have you rocked this look ever? And I don’t mean by accident!

Now, I won't talk bras here - that's a whole other topic! Do go and get fitted so that you're wearing a bra with good support - don't let them get floppy or sloppy. And don't go the other way either and crush the poor things - you know the look, pushed up and squashed and looking more like a bum than boobs.

When an outfit doesn’t work, it’s often because the neckline is unflattering to you.  And since no woman ever refers to her boobs as medium sized - just too big or too small, I'm breaking things down into necklines that make the most of big and small boobs.

Full Bust

Best necklines are low, open necklines like a sweetheart, scoop, square or V-neck which tend to look good on almost every body type and size.

V-neck dresses are super flattering on big-busted girls. The V acts as an arrow to the bust. Just make sure you don’t reveal too much. If the neckline is very low then wear a layer underneath, so that it is not too revealing.

Wraps are very flattering. Avoid high necklines, and round necks as they can make full busts look like one big lump.

A strapless top can make very top-heavy women spill out and should probably be avoided, a halter will flatter your figure if it has built in support. Just be careful your boobs don’t spill out the sides.

Small Bust

Look for fitted tops with narrow V-necks, but not with too deep as V, as this can accentuate bony chests and draw attention to the fact that you have a small bust. Wear a camisole or collared shirt underneath and it will look much more flattering.

Wraps are great to flatter a small bust. Polonecks are elegant and flattering on flat-chested women as they draw attention away from the chest. Halter styles can accentuate your small bust and even create curves, especially if it has a built-in bra.

Sweetheart necklines are also good at creating the illusion of curves. Square and asymmetrical necklines broaden the shoulders and create the illusion of a larger bust. A scoop neckline is also a good option.

Strapless tops, as with bigger busted girls, can be unflattering as they will drag attention to a small bust, but with the right cut they can look amazing.
