Ask & You Shall Receive - What to do About a Shiny Forehead

kate winslettI was pretty surprised when an e-mail from Kate Winslett popped into my inbox recently*. But I'm here to help everyone, celebrity or no - and God knows it appears she needs our advice.

She tells me that she has a Titanic of a problem - and she's not the Heavenly Creature she once was, that's for sure. I think she wants to get herself some Sense and Sensibility and cover up that Eternal Sunshine on her forehead, don't you? Thankfully, she's realised this herself and is looking for advice on what she should buy to reduce the reflective properties of her noggin.

First off Kate, I think you'd want to invest in an oil free foundation. How about a bit of MAC studio Fix? Or perhaps Clinique's Oil Free formulation would be a good bet? Whatever - just get it. Revlon and Maybelline can also oblige for decent foundations at the cheaper end of the market. Now, I'd also recommend you invest in a decent pressed powder, because pressed powder is yer only man to create a matte finish. It'll take that shine down and mattify your complexion about 140%. If you don't want to flash the cash, Rimmel and Max Factor will oblige with perfectly satisfactory powder compacts, but for a pro finish, I'd say go for MAC.

Once you've got those two steps down, do not leave the house ever again without either Dr Feelgood by Benefit or invest in some fab mattifying papers which instantly soak up oil and restore order and balance to a face prone to shine. Loads of brands do these - L'Oreal, Decleor and I've also spotted them at the Body Shop.
