BOOKWATCH!

Postby aphrodite » Mon Nov 23, 2009 9:31 pm

Tell us where you bought your copy of the Beaut.ie Guide to Gorgeous! http://beaut.ie/blog/?page_id=16436

Was it easy to find in the shop? Was it displayed prominently? Who did you buy it for - yourself or for a pressie?

AND... do you like it?

We're dying to hear all and any info so fire ahead!

I haven't bought yet as I am 99% sure it will be a xmas pressie from my sis. However, I did go for a gander in dubray books blackrock and was surprised to find it on a shelf [with self help/health books] and not on any main display

Aphrodite - in Easons Athlone it was upstairs on the shelf with all the other beauty stuff.
In Easons Liffey Valley it was also in one of the aisles, on the top shelf though so easy to find.
I couldn't even find it in Easons Longford though.

Haha-it sounds like I'm stalking your book - maybe I am, lol

Bought it in Easons the day of the book signing in Cork so it was pretty prominent!! Bought it for myself.

However, the 2 weekends before during the Jazz Festival I had a gander in Waterstones on Patrick St in Cork and saw it in 2 locations: on a table of recommended books in the Health and Beauty section, stood out well enough. It was also on a table in the Irish Interest (or whatever that section is called!) as well. It was easy to find in the Health and Beauty section as I was looking for it, not sure if it was also on the shelves there. And I was just happening to walk past the Irish Interest section and the covercaught my eye again cos of the colour!

I got mine in BT Cork just after the BT Dublin launch - found a small display of a high table near Bare Minerals counter, however I didn't feel that the display was very prominent within the store & I did have to search for it. However, certain counters did have little signs showing their product or products that had been recommended in the book which was good!

I got my boyfriend to pre-order mine from Gill & MacMillan in October. I have seen it in Hodges Figgis on Dawson Street and they had to displayed upstairs in the Health/ Beauty section on the end of a bookshelf marked as Bestsellers, which I thought was pretty good! I have been in Eason's on O'Connell Street and didn't actually notice it anywhere. I wasn't specifically looking for it there, so maybe it was off in a different section. Oh and I love mine, I have it beside my bed to dip into every so often.
