Hi Snowdrop - aw, I sympathise, I think we've all felt like that at some stage. I'm STILL not back in my pre-pregnancy weight and sometimes it gets me down and I could come up with million excuses but excuses don't help anyone. You need to pick yourself up and ask yourself do you want to go on feeling the way you do? If you don't do anything now, how will you feel in a year's time? If you start today and sort yourself out, how will you feel? It's true we're all busy etc etc but to be honest, most of us waste an awful lot of time on non-productive things. See where you can make some time for yourself to sit down for half an hour or hour and plan your meals for the next week. Then go online to the tesco website and order your weekly shop. It's easy. First time it might take you longer but once you get into a good routine it's quick. Then see where you can fit in some activities. If nothing else, get yourself a pedometer and start walking more, taking stairs etc. You just need half an hour of exercise a day to start with, 5 times a week. Get up an hour earlier if you have to.
I wrote this article recently (I know it's for a parenting website but it should help anyone who struggles to find time to be healthy) http://www.meetmums.ie/blog/healthy-liv ... e-top-tips it might help you.
Then, start thinking positive and celebrate your small achievements. You can do it. Stop eating sugar, now! It's the best thing you can do to yourself, sugar really makes me feel low, lethargic and sorry for myself. YOu'll find you sleep better and hence have more energy to do stuff when you're awake.
Hope this helps. You can do it!!

Tina - loved your 'healthy living' piece, I'm all for an evening off from cooking and try and keep a stock of soup in the fridge for those moments, along with potatoes for baked spuds with beans/tuna and salad, for lazy dinners and need to stock up the freezer with healthy bits in the next week or two for weak moments when I'd be tempted to go for crappy food but if I have tasty food in the freezer, I'd always go for that first.

Snowdrop - I'm working ridiculous hours by times and am only having one day off most weeks so I try to cook soup maybe twice a week, and always keeps spuds in the house for the trusty baked potato (dinner ready in ten minutes, yes please) or wedges for days when I have a bit more time; brown rice and wholewheat pasta and then have some frozen prawns, roast chicken or ham or something; and loads of veggies and fruit to hand. Todays dinner is wholewheat pasta, with onions, mushrooms, ham and prawns all in a philadephia and veg stock sauce, made in ten minutes and so much nicer than a bag of chips... Give yourself an hour maybe twice a week and batch cook some nice dishes (bolgnese sauce, pile in the veg and add loads of chilli and some kidney beans for another day for chilli) and pop the bits in the fridge in containers that you just need add your carbs, I'm finding I'm going for the brown version of whatever carbs I can get and if I have grapes, strawberries or nice fruit like that to munch on, I don't want as much in the way of chocolate or crisps when I get to the evening time.

Finally went back to the gym today after far far too long of a gap in visits... Had an hour long walk and then 3k on a bike in the gym, then treated myself to some sauna-time :D

How is everyone doing?

Well done everyone! I know I haven't posted here in a while but I have been keeping an eye on things!

I'm in dire need of getting back into shape. I went for a walk there, about 45mins worth as it was a lovely evening. Was very tempted to not go but made myself and I'm glad I did!

Hoping to start back on Kill Jill and if I can sneak into the gym, do some weights

Hey girlies!

I'm back after a considerable absence on the boards. Great to see that ye're all doing so well.....slowly and consistently is the only way.

I'm certainly back on track myself. have cut back on the crap (through packed lunches, proper dinners etc.) and plan on going one step further tomorrow by ELIMINATING all the crap from my diet completely (big step for me as I've never done this before, so fingers crossed).

Other than that back to the gym tomorrow, as haven't been in a while and want to get back (had only renewed my membership there a few weeks ago, but was INSANELY busy with college, so had no other option, as time was of the essence).

So yeah, hope ye're all doing ok. We'll all be in the bikinis in no time :D

Still no where near bikini ready but I'm trying my best! :) I did Week 2 Day 2 of C25K so I'm pleased with myself for that. I also joined a Hot Yoga class. Wowsers! I loved it. I sweated buckets but didn't feel like I had over done it. Felt great after it and reeeeeeeeeeally felt it in muscles I didn't know I was using on the Sunday. All good! No pain no gain right? :) Going again on Friday and really looking forward to it.

I started Curves about 6 weeks ago, I lost 7lbs the first 4 weeks, and around 11 inches around my body. Today, a male colleague noticed my new curves (don't worry, we're good mates so it wasn't weird!) and it has really motivated me to keep going. :)

hi girls...everyone's doing really well

Well done with the half stone glitterlamp...I'd a great experience with curves a few years ago too, finished with it after about a year as i'd changed jobs etc but found it a great start to fitness and good for toning. there are alot of varying reviews on it though-I really think it depends on the branch you join.

Aifs, dying to start the hot yoga and hopefully will try a class soon...you're definately selling it there! I'm doing pilates now once a week and trying to get out jogging a couple of evenings and play a sport too so getting there on the exercise front, just need to watch what I'm putting in my gob now after an indulgent weekend!! :D

sweetie - it's definitely worth a try. I had my second class on Friday and found it great. Wasn't as sore after it. Not sure if that was the instructor (different to the first class) or just that I'm getting used to them. I think I'm getting better at it too. *swelled head* :) It was only my second class but there were others there who had been there a good bit longer and were struggling. I like doing something I'm good at if that makes sense.

glitterlamp - well done on the loss. I didn't find Curves any good at all but that's just me. Lost hardly anything after 2 months, so on my 3rd month I started doing a workout DVD at home and lost 10.5 inches and 2lbs. Different things work for different people though so I'm glad to see some success stories from Curves.
