Updo's for the gym

Postby snowdrop » Sun Jan 22, 2012 8:46 pm

Hi everyone,

Was wondering if any of ye gym bunnies with long hair could enlighten me as to how you keep your hair out of you way during an intense workout?

I have very long hair, but have a rake of layers both short and long as I'm growing out a blunt fringe, which is a complete pain in the ar*e

I have those rubber backed headband thingys which are great, but leave this god awful imprint in my hair which no amount of brushing can remove.

I apologise in advance for this ridiculous thread, but would love some feedback. ;)

My hair is mid lower back and I use a flat stretchy headband from penneys, they come in packs of 2 and are about 2.5 inches wide and a bun. One bobbin to hold the ponytail and a second to hold the wrapped hair. I hate hate hate any hair falling around my face or down my neck when I'm exercising....

Thanks BM, great idea

i know what you mean about hair falling around face, etc while exercising . . . . real bugbear of mine

Will go to pennys post haste and stock up on those hairbands, so can just fire into the gym bag and not worry if I loose them. :P

I french plait the front sections of my hair to keep them from falling down and just do it to wear I would tie in a ponytail usually as I tie my gym key onto a gogo/bobbin in my hair on the ponytail if that makes sense, handy for when I'm wearing certain bottoms that don't have pockets, can't stand the key on my wrist making noise.
