Vintage Fashion w/o the rummaging part!

Postby ladylovesvintage » Wed Jan 04, 2012 1:47 pm

Hi ladies, I wanted to know what vintage fashion sites you use on the internet? I love the look of vintage clothes but I don't like the idea of second hand and also I can never seem to find anything decent rummaging through rails of often tatty clothes so I prefer to shop online. I've come across some nice "vintage inspired" sites where the clothes are brand new but the design has a vintage feel. One I'm addicted to at the moment is Miss Patina http://www.misspatina.bigcartel.com/, they make really nice dresses and blouses that are good quality and fit really well. I wore one of their dresses to a wedding last summer and I got loads of compliments. Anyway I was wondering if you know of any similar brands? Thanks girls xxx

I love modcloth.com. They pick pieces from different brands that look like vintage. They've got amazing dresses and jewellery. Unfortunately they're an American site so the postage is pretty expensive, but the clothes are great quality - I've a couple of dresses from there that are a few years old, and I still wear them :D

ladylovesvintage have you tried the asos marketplace? There's lots of vintage and vintage inspired clothes on there....rummage free....I got a jumpsuit before christmas on there and love it...

I have had a look on the ASOS marketplace, I just find there's a lot of rubbish on there. I love modcloth as well, Zooey Deschanel gets most of her outfits for New Girl from them! Need your advice ladies, do you think this dress by http://www.misspatina.bigcartel.com/ is suitable for a September wedding? Or is it not dressy enough? @LLV I never buy vintage online, rarely buy it at all - I don't have the sort of small frame that suits most vintage clothing - I like to look though. I like accessories and jewellery but I prefer to pick them up in the flesh, some pieces can photograph better than they are in reality. But they are usually very expensive in shops here.
