Postby Sarahkkelleher » Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:05 pm

I am having a really tough time with my skin recently with the weather change! Im currently using argan oil at night and origins check and balance and perfect world in the morning...anyone got any suggestions on what to stop my nose peeling!

Hi Sarah: is Check and Balance a cleanser? Personally, and I'm ALL about moisture-optimising, I'd never start the day with a serious cleanser...I just wipe over with rosewater.
Wottevs....your moisturiser isn't frightfully rich, for winter. Why not try a fine layer of the oil under it in the morning? You won't have an oil slick to deal with, promise, and this really helps your skin keep its equilibrium in cold weather. For the flaking....I get that, and blame tissues for it. Two things...buy some big, blokes' cotton hankies for sniffles; and, after gentle, localised exfoliation, use something balm-like on your poor nostrils...for anything like this I adore Lush's Ultrabalm, costs peanuts, and has no nasty petrolatum products in it.

Kiehl's have a lovely cream I just bought for this exact reason, Ultra Facial Cream. I have normal to oily skin, but it's for all types and I am finding it great so far. You can use it night and day, they recommended using an oil/serum at night time for an added boost. The cream was tested by people in Greenland, so good for cold weather!

The classic 8 hour cream!!! i have skin like the sahara and this is a godsend. bit pricey, but veerrrrry worth it. lately i've been using palmer's cocoa butter on my face too, it smells lovely and it's cheaper than 8 hour cream, bith are wonders for me :)
