4) A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini
5) The Steig Larson series
6) Room - Emma Donoghue

Kept meaning to add to this thread. These are the books that really stand out for me when trying to think of my favourite, they are in no particular order:

Persuasion - Jane Austen
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
The Horse Whisperer - Nicholas Evans
The Gargoyle - Andrew Davidson
The Tea Rose - Jennifer Donnelly
The Time Traveller's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger
My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult
How To Talk To A Widower - Jonathan Tropper

It's funny how some books resonate so much with you at certain times of your life, that's definitely the case for me anyhow.

Great to see other people's recommendations, they'll be going on my Amazon wishlist!

CiB-I'm always recommending it to people.

Aphrodite-The Marriage Plot is next on my to buy list, I love Jeffrey Eugenides.

I'm currently reading 'Bad Day in Blackrock' by Kevin Power. I've been unsure whether to read it or not since it came out because of the actual crime/case that inspired it but it's extremely well written so I'm glad I picked it up in the end.

I'm such a bookworm!! I love reading, got a kindle as a present for getting into my first choice college course :) (FANTASTIC, by the way. I'll admit I used to be a hardcore book snob but i'm totally converted now)

My top five:
1. The Book Of Lost Things by John Connolly
2. All of the Harry Potters (cannot pin it down to just one!)
3. The Horse Whisperer - Nicholas Evans
4.Hamlet - granted it's technically not a book, but I love it!!
5. The Help - Kathryn Stockett. I bought this just after it came out and thought ''jaysus this'd be a great film!!'' and lo and behold.... :)

Definite honourable mention to To Kill a Mockingbird and The Grapes of Wrath too!
