I lost my Primer!

Postby Beth TV » Wed Nov 23, 2011 1:58 pm

Two jobs here, girls.

Can we recommend me a good value primer that will last the course, isn't a rip off and will impress me big time. My skins in very good condition overall, no spots of note, no wrinkles at all and just a bit of dry/rough over my lip where I do bold things with a razor a few times a week. I don't mind spending money on something if it is the best out there and I will gladly go with cheap if it's well worth it as well. FTR I was using GOSH velvet touch and was loving it and would go back with it but I am open to suggestions.

That or else one of tell me where I left mine or else give it back

I'm not huge in to primers, but I do like Rimmels one "fix and perfect" (think that's what it's called)

It's in a white tube and has a blue screw on lid about 30mls.

Beth TV - I think I have a Gosh one somewhere that I never use. It's 95% full. I'll try and lay my hands on it. If I find it, you're more than welcome to it.

Golly that's really fantabluous.

But beth, while you such have a damned good excuse, try two different kinds and report back for us!
Because: I used, til I ran out, Laura Mercier's hydrating primer, which is sort of hair-conditionery in texture. Then I got a pot of that Clarins Instant Touch one, free, and it's more buttery, not at all liquid. Both were fab...but now I can't decide which type was better, and was there actually any diff really? Maybe your loss will garner you lots of samples in stores and you can do a consumer test!

Congrats on a prayer answered anyway, and may Karma reward the generous benefactor :)

I picked up a Laura Mercier primer (must check which one it is as I remember being surprised that there were quite a few to choose from instead of the 'one fits all' that I am used to using) and I'm looking forward to using it as they seem to be good quality.

I bought a Champneys Perfectly Mattifying Toner in Sainsburys ages ago and, whilst this will sound odd, I've been using this as a primer when I go out. I make sure I have a bit of extra time to thoroughly moisturise my skin (as it would tend to be on the dry side) and usually use a moisturising masque followed with a layer of Bio Oil and then my moisturiser. When the moisturiser has had time to sink in nicely I then use the Champneys Toner (which is in a pump bottle and comes out as a milky white lotion). It may sound as if I'm undoing the moisturising work by adding a toner at the end but because it's creamy it seems to work!

*blushes* Well it's only sitting in my make up drawers so it is better off with someone who will use it. I didn't get to check where exactly it is last night but I will tonight I promise. When I find it, I will get you to PM me your address.
