week 3 day 2 done. Didn't feel too bad.
Thought I could get out and back between the showers but I got soaked on the way back by torrential rain.
Feel great now that I can sit back and relax for the evening with my run done.

Wow Loco, well done. Unfortunately I didn't get to do it this week. Sis had her third little boy last week so I went down to give her a hand Thursday - yesterday. The only running I was doing was after her 3 year old! :D I must get back into it today. I'll do week 2 day 3.

Oh congrats aunty aifs , i'd say running around after and helping take care of your sis and her 3 little dudes was exercise enough. You'll slot back in no bother to you hardest part will be getting out the door. I've kind of just become determined i'm going to do it, probably bit selfish like if i'm arranging to meet friends i'll try not do it on a running night and if no choice i make sure i've time for my run b4 i meet them. Just really want my fitness back. Best of luck.

I did week 2 day 3 yesterday. I felt good but I don't know if I'm ready to move onto week 3 day 1 yet. I'm thinking of doing one more day of week 2 if that makes sense. I think the gap in my routine has made me unfit. I also think I had eaten too much at lunch time and got a pretty bad stitch.

Loco - not selfish at all. I would do similar. I'm just getting into a routine but I see late nights at work in the near future so I'm just hoping that doesn't happen/mess it up! I need to get fit and losing a bit of weight would be a bonus!

Loco - well done. I'm still stuck on wk 5.

Aifs I'm the same as you I often repeat runs as I wasn't ready.

I got lazy in the last 3 weeks. One week I had friends over, then I had a night out etc. I didn't go another day cos it was too windy. Then I synced my ipod and lost episodes. Excuses, excuses.

This week I have been working until 7 and 7.30 and I know it's be like this for the next 3 months as it's our busy time and we're down staff.

Decided on Wed I wasn't going to run this week as I was tormenting myself with the guilt.

Aifs - I think it is important to repeat runs if you feel you aren't up to moving on. If you push on and your body isn't ready then you could possibly injure yourself.

Want2run - I totally understand life can just get in the way. I had a mental week this week, working late, looking for somewhere to live (pain in the a55) and then the Queen making it impossible to get home. I only got out for run (wk4d1) on Monday night and that was at 8pm and it was pure stubbornness on my part, and that was it for the week. I think it's just about trying to do a little bit to keep you going for the tough few months it would be terrible to loose the fitness you have developed. I tried to walk every where I could this week just to be moving every day.

This evening I managed to get WK4d2 done but it was purely because I had the day off, but found it though going it was so windy. Will try for day 3 on Sunday. But don't know if I'll be able for week 5, day 3 being a 20 min run.

Hi girls, well done you all! Just wanted to reassure you that it's perfectly ok, and often I'd recommend it, to repeat a week! Like someone said, if your body is not ready to be pushed more, you risk injuring yourself (and for this reason you should also stretch well AFTER running, warm up, cool down and never ignore a pain - pain is a sign that something is wrong) but also, for motivation it's often good to repeat a week. If this week's run was hard, next week's is going to be harder and the thought of it can be off putting! It's great when you finish a session feeling like you could have done a bit more, that way it'll be easier to go out for a run next time!

Thanks Tina - I saw your posters for RunwithTina in Mid Abbey Street WW on Thursday it looks great. Best of luck getting some new girls, I wish I lived in Dublin to able to attend your courses, I think company might make the runs a bit easier.

I did Wk5 D1 on Wednesday and D2 yesterday , I honestly never knew we lived in such a windy country I find it's making my runs feel so much more difficult.
I'm due to do Wk5D3 tomorrow it the first full 20 min run and I'm dreading it, don't know if I'll be able to do it all non stop. At least once I do it I'll have rest until Wednesday.

Thanks Loco, that's great. It was actually another beaut.ie girl who took it there, brideandjoy, and it seems lots of beaut.ie girls have seen it there, lol.
I do one off private consultations too if you ever feel stuck and need help!

OMG the wind has been something else lately, hasn't it. It's not always like that, thank god! It adds a bit of resistance work to running that's for sure.
how did you get on with the 20min run?

I did week 2 day 3 again yesterday and felt really good. I'm definitely ready for week 3 day 1 tomorrow. I hope the weather holds up. I got out between showers yesterday and it was lovely.

Loco - well done on getting to week 5 day 3! I'd be so pleased with myself if I ever get there!
