Eventually got over all chest infections and started Week 1 day 1 , I was exhausted heading out but felt great once I completed it. Getting my runners on and getting out the door was the hardest part.

I'm using the Get Running (C25K) App on my iPod touch, its a 9 week program, it gives vocal indications of when you need to run and how long for and loads of encouragement along the way, and you can also listen to your favorite music too.
In a weird way I'm really excited to be running again and getting fit again.

Thanks Tina,

I managed to do Wk1 Day2 this morning. It was grand I think the fine weather makes it easier to get out there. Did find running into the wind on the way quite tough but kept going just slightly slower.

I did week 1 day 3 yesterday. It will be interesting to see how I get on with week 2 when the program changes. I will do it tomorrow evening. I'm feeling really good from doing it. I've never really done anything like this before. I use the C25K app too and find it really helpful. I don't think I'd be as motivated to go and time myself or anything like that. It's great having my own (cheesy) music to bop along to.

Loco - yes, the wind makes it that bit harder!

Aifs - well done! Getting started is the hardest part. Cheesy music is good :)

Week 2 Day 1 done. This bloody weather is a pain though. I only did it up and down our long ish garden because I was afraid it would rain. Just as well I did because I would have got soaked during my cool down!

Well done Aifs.
Managed to get week 2 day 2 this afternoon in between the rain showers.
Really starting to enjoy it. I was exhausted heading out had spent the morning minding my 18 month old niece, she is like a tasmanian devil. But by the 3rd run session I started to get into it. The wind is the only thing that is bothering me it's so difficult to run into and it kind of takes your breathe away.

I did Week 2 Day 2 yesterday between showers too Loco. Got caught in one just at the end but it wasn't too heavy. I brought the dog on the first round of the block while I was doing it. She was good and kept up but she was starting to slow down so I dropped her home when I was passing the door and headed off again. She was flat out for the evening! I did my Jillian Michaels 6 week 6 pack afterwards! I was feeling very energetic.

Aifs wow that is very energetic but i think you might need to get you doggy some treats the poor wee thing must have been wrecked. I managed to do wk3 day1 today it wasn't too bad the 3min runs were suprisingly ok considering i had been asleep on the train on way home. And managed to get home just as the rain started.
