As soon as I saw Lidl were branching out into the world of liquid eyeliner I had to have a go.
Would it be like their baked beans (atrocious)? Or maybe it would be like their cheeses (most excellent)?
I had an open mind as I lined my eyes. I liked the fact that this liner is very black and made it really easy to draw an impressive cats eye. I didn’t like the fact that the nib is very stiff and can be quite sore if you press down.
So my top tip is – don’t press hard with this one. In terms of performance it didn’t blow me away but it’s quite decent. If you like Isa Dora liquid liner(or any of those felt pen liners) then this will be a good one for you to try.
But this is the deal maker. It costs €2.99. Yes – TWO NINETY NINE. Sorry for shouting but this is more like it. Its roughly the price of a cup of coffee, does the job and it’s cheap enough for everyone to enjoy. More like this please.
The Suhada range of cosmetics will be available at Lidl from April 16th.

read this in a small voice: I just… I just don’t know if I could make the switch to Lidl makeup… I like posh tings too much…
I know where you’re coming from Kirstie, nothing makes you feel better than putting a wee bit of Chanel or YSL on the face…however, I’m such a terror for losing anything that goes into my handbag I do buy ‘spares’ of items that i can have with me during the day…and these Lidl bargains could well make the cut for that.
yeah i like the wow pretty things feeling when I buy make up. 99% of my make up is not exactly necessary!
I agree – this is the whole thing about makeup being a feelgood thing – little purchases being a treat.
So if you’re cutting down from YSL to Lidl eyeliner you’re going to feel hard done by. But if you’re not a makeup person you might not care?
I like the ALDI mosituriser but think I would draw the line at foudation and blusher.
I’d going to get the touch eclat yoke ye did earlier in the week though.
Fantastic. Democracy of the cat’s-eye effect! Makes you think about makeup, though, doesn’t it?
On the one hand, there’s stuff that works, and if it works don’t knock it, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
On the other: stuff that makes you feel better. Makes you feel like a star/princess/deity in the privacy of your bathroom.
I wonder how many people have two sets of makeup for the two purposes? And how fab a product has to be so as to be for both of them!
This sounds like a fab bargain especially if it works. The quality of all products at lidl and indeed Aldi is very high so I wouldn’t worry.
I wouldn’t have a problem with cheaper eyeliner if its good, its not like you are putting it all over your face like you would with foundation.
Its a great way for anyone who is not sure if they can use liquid eyeliner as they will only have lost 3 euro if it doesn’t work out rather than shelling out a lot more for something they may never use again.
LOL! Had to laugh when you mentioned the beans, they is the only thing from Lidl that I didn’t like.
I mean who thought it was a good idea to add paprika to beans!
Fortunately the also sell Heinz beans:)
Laughed at the beans too. Add tomato puree (out the squeezy tube) BBQ seasoning BBQ sauce a dash of sugar (ideally maple syrup) and voilà – very like the swankiest proper Boston Baked Beans type stuff. Works with all known tinned beans.
When I decided to try liquid eyeliner, I didn’t know if i would get on with it at all, so I bought a Collection 2000 one. It’s not half bad actually!
Second confession: I bought eyeshadow in Penneys the other day…for the craic. It’s pretty good, 2 greeny shades, the only thing is that the colours look a bit more mad when they are on compared to looking at them in the box.
Dancingueen, great idea to stock up on cheaper stuff to keep in your handbag while the expensive stuff is nice and safe at home! Unless you’ve a really nice expensive compact that you like to whip out in public to show off!
I’m gonna try this. I’m a tad nervous though, I had a bad incident with eyeliner I was given from the ahemm… 2 euro shop. Oh the crazy things we do when we’re young!
Polly, I with you totally. Would buy this to have in make-up bag at all times. Having said that my regular eye-liner is only a Boots one, but it’s very good.
saw eyeshadows and nail varnish in this range in lidl today, the eyeshaddow looked very bland. i bought some moisturizer and a foundation in aldi, moisturizer felt nice on my skin but got a few spots after using it a few days, i think its too rich. but the foundation is totally useless (should of known better)
This is great news, at these prices you can afford to lash on a full face every day for work and keep the good stuff for d’weekends, no sense in wasting expensive stuff on the boss and the good stuff will last you longer!
I love my eyeliner (currently using a clinique cream one) and would be lost without it but Mmmm at this price – i’m wondering what is wrong with it! Think i’d prefer to save my money and get something more reliable even if it does only cost 2.99 but i’d be interested to see what the reviews are like on this product.
Jusy wondering if anybody knows if Suhada products are tested on animals?
Many thanks.
