ps I like a ‘dewy’ glowy foundation- not matte!

  • ~Thalia~ says:

    lucyloo – I’ve used chanel compact. It’s FAB :)

  • MontyC says:

Lucyloo – Yep I use Chanel and I think Poppins does too.

I like vitalumiere creme compact (which is quite light in coverage) and teint innocence compact(which is a more medium coverage but can be varied to whatever you need). Both come in liquid formats as well, I just preferred the compact version.

In the vitalumiere, I’m 20 Clair and in the teint innocence, I’m 05 faience. Strange but true :-)

Afternoon everyone – has anyone here or does anyone know of anyone who has gone abroad for dental work?

  • Tiddles says:

Are there any facemasks you get from chemists that actually do anything? I’ve tried quite a few over the years but have never really noticed any kind of difference from them.
    I fancy using one tonight…

  • Glitterkitty says:

m – i’ve dry skin and i love the mac select and face&body
the big thing i’ve noticed is to exfoliate my skin just once a week.. even dry skin needs to be exfoliated!

  • Karen Quinn says:

Glitterkitty – Yeah I find the bourgois concealer brings out a bit too much and is pretty liquidy but just smooth it on with a finger then so my face isnt half covered in the stuff! I’ll have to give that moisturiser a go as I’m tortured with my skin being a state.

Ninaluna – I think the Estee lauder Double Wear has contributed to my cyrrent skin woes. I found it far too heavy and serious cleansing was required. wore it on my wedding day a few weeks and would not be using it again unless I needed some serious long lasting foundation.

Sunshine – I wouldn’t bother getting involved unless she seems to be the sort who would take some well-intentioned advice, otherwise you’ll end up cast as an interfering biddy.

  • Poppins says:

ya lucyloo i use chanel too, and i wont EVER change. i was using MAC up until i switched to chanel. my skin is dry and the mac just made it look drier, where as the chanel makes it look moisturised. and its so light on the skin. i use vitalumiere in the jar. 20 clair cameo

  • MontyC says:

M – I exfoliate once a week (sometimes twice if I feel I need it – I’ve dry sensitive skin) and it makes a big difference.

  • Poppins says:

CarrieB my uncle is just back from prague – new set of teeth. cost half what it was costing him to have it done here, and he is v happy with the results

  • lucyloo says:

thanks a million poppins and montyc im using mac at the moment but fancy a change – now the thing is i have oily skin so do u reckon the vitalumiere wud make my skin look all shiny and greasy?

  • Lynnie says:

Lucyloo Chanel do a version called Mat Lumiere for combi/oily skin which might be more suitable for you :)

  • MontyC says:

Lucyloo – There are lots of different foundations and it would be worth heading to the counter and chatting with the SA’s to see what would work best for your skin type.

  • ~Thalia~ says:

LucyLoo – I have quite oily skin and the chanel teint innocence works really well with my skin anyway. As Monty says try a good few samples before you buy.

  • lucyloo says:

    cool thanks girls

  • Poppins says:

lucyloo consult wit SA then purchase. dont purhase on what we are saying as everyones skin is different.
just had wire fitted on back of teeth so they wont move

  • CarrieB says:

oo poppins, thanks v much – is there anyway you could let me know the name of where he went?

  • m says:

    thanks for the recommendations :)

I do exfoliate once or twice a week – just starting using Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish too so the muslin cloth exfoliates a tiny bit too(I think!)

  • Poppins says:

CarrieB ill ask him this week, ill be talking to him either tonight or tomorrow and ill post whatever info he gives me for you up here.

  • CarrieB says:

Thanks a mill Poppins, my hubby is in a bad way with his teeth and its so dear here but Id be afraid to just pick one of the internet without a recommendation

  • dellie says:

CarrieB – my cousin and aunt both went to prague to get work done on their teeth. My cousin had been in a riding accident and had a big job to do on her teeth. They were really pleased with the results. i’ll text my aunt this eve and let u know 2moro.

  • Cupcake says:

Had anyone bought a bag from lush before?

  • CarrieB says:

Thats brill thanks Dellie – same with hubby, his front teeth were knocked out in a hockey match and he has these horrible false ones and he’s only 35, it really affects his confidence so would love him to get them sorted out…

  • Ninaluna says:

Thanks for the recommendation Admin, two whole weeks til payday so any purchases will have to wait :(

MontyC, I’m always perusing the beauty counters in BT’s and House of Fraser during my lunch break! I got a sample of Clinique Superfit last week and thought it was the most hideous foundation ever, very strange texture and patchy coverage. I’m very tempted to go back to either Stila or Bobbi Brown’s Oil Free foundations. I used to use Chanel vitalumiere too but my skin has become so oily in the past 2 years that it just doesn’t do it for me anymore.

    Thanks for the suggestions everyone!

    Hello ladies.

It was my birthday over the weekend, and I’ve received two vouchers; one for Debenhams, and one a general MAC one, each to the value of fifty squid. Being the recession and all, I’m delighted, but I honestly have no idea what to get.

For MAC, I’m thinking of getting the Fascinating Ruby shadow set~ six smokey eye shades for thirty £s, since I need some smokey eye shades sharpish. But still, random various shades look rather tempting.

  • I found the most amazing stila set that my friend had over the weekend… I never realised how lovely Stila stuff was…

  • Ellenwaxer says:

Aw poor Sarah got the heave ho from Bill on the Apprentice.

  • Sunshine says:

About Double Wear – I’m using it at the moment and I like it a lot. And I don’t find it hard to get off at all. I use Dermalogica’s Precleanse before my cleanser -it instantly dissolves all makeup.

  • Breige says:

Retro, with the Debenhams one,you could put it towards getting a good dress/outfit for Christmas that you can accesorize in different ways, would save you from having it get a different outfit for each occasion if you could just mix up a few pieces(I say this as you mentioned the recession, thought it might appeal to you!)
