Subtle Bronzing With Givenchy Mat and Glow

givenchy.jpg

I’m such a sucker for Givenchy’s pretty prismes. I have so many – shadow, cheek and even more shadow prismes are hoarded in my beauty stash – and they’re all great. I have a fab monochrome one that’s a smokey eye essential, and the blush versions deliver a silky pop of colour that I love.

Prismissime Mat & Glow is my latest addiction, though. 9 little squares of matte and shimmery beiges swirl together on the brush to create a wash of colour. There’s no fear of channeling one of those messy-haired Ugg-booted girls with the weird matte brown faces though, instead, this delivers a very subtle shimmer that actually suits a celtic skin tone.

I lightly contour temples, under my cheeks, dust my nose and chin, and the result is a face that looks healthy and slightly sun-kissed. Perfect! Of course, you can use the shades singly too, and with shimmer being a hot prediction for summer, this is a good multiple product to pack for holidays.

Get yours now for about €38, in department stores like Debenhams.

    Love the packaging of this.

I have a translucent powder and having dacant quality pakaging that isn’t bmacboring black is great. I liek the way it opens all the way as well.

Please note bobbie brown – the clasp on a powder comapct broke so I had to put an elastic band to keep it closed. I think for the price this should not happen.

Oooh, I like the look and sound of that!

Becks- I feel your pain. At a Benefit counter yesterday I asked if there was an alternative available to their cardboard packaging (like the resuable steel tubs Stila do) because my Benefit blushers always, always fall apart. The girl at the counter rather hilariously pretended she had never heard anyone make such a complaint before and there was really no reason why that should happen. Schyeah, right.

zee – I had a benefit blusher years ago and it fell apart. I didn’t complain but I did worse I did not re purchase.

Ooh I have this! It’s fab…not a big fan of the brush that came with it though. It’s a bit awkward. The colour is sooo nice though!

there is nothing worse than when an eyeshadow or blusher breaks – so frustrating. Have not bought any of the benefit blushers but have a bronzer and would not be carting the box around in my handbag.

This looks fab fab fab! Must add to my wish list.
I bought an Estee Lauder bronzer a few years ago that broke all over a beautiful suede lined handbag I got in Italy – was so mad at EL and myself for being stupid enough to be carting it around in the first place. I returned it to EL and they replaced it, which was some consolation. Would always return cosmetics when they break, particularly when they are ‘high end’ brands and when they break after only a short time.

Saw this advertised in a magazine and think it looks so pretty, but am a bit confused on how you use it. Is it like the bobbi brown brick? Even the girl at the counter couldn’t really explain. Help?!

  • Admin says:

londongirl – swirl the brush over all the colours and then apply to your face, basically!

  • londongirl says:

Thanks Admin, for some reason I thought you could use the individual sections for eyeshadow. It’s so pretty think it will be my next beauty purchase when I get paid. thanks again!

    This looks sooo pretty!

I already have Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick in Bronze so I really don’t need it..

  • Admin says:

londongirl – you can! it says in the post above that you can use it both ways. as a bronzer you use all the colours together; for shadow, use them singly

  • Polly says:

Would it not get all messed up after swirling all the colours around so many times? I’d be afraid I’d ruin it!!

  • Harto says:

Think I might have found the replacement for Pout Duo Bronze – yay!!

  • FairyPrincess says:

Sooo pretty!! Love the Laura Mercier bronze shimmer bloc too…God , I’m addicted to these sets!!
