I just found a site that promises to give away sterling silver jewellery, for free.

I’ve been taking a look at the site and reading the FAQs and testimonials. And I myself got the recommendation from a highly reputable business. So far so good. Can this offer be for real though? Why on earth would they be doing this? Well, they say

Wear it yourself or give it as a gift! We are a legitimate company based in Los Angeles . You can read testimonials from customers who have received our jewelry been positively impressed, and returned for more. Besides this site, we also sell on eBay under the seller name of DiaGeminc, and we are considered one of the most prominent jewelry sellers on ebay 5 years running”
Shipping to Ireland is $8.99 – so presumably they make a bit of money this way. And I’m at pains to say that I myself have not ordered from the site so I know nothing more then what I’m telling you. But I’m checking into it and I’ll let you know how I get on.

An update: I emailed the company and got this response:
We offer designer jewelry pieces with real gemstones for FREE, our logic in doing this is to build a customer base. Rest assured that we are not a marketing company whose sole purpose is to gather customer data, rather we are a jewelry company who is using the free sample model to build a rapport.
