Ask & You Shall Receive – Removing Eyelash Extensions

Karen was “just wondering do you know how to take off  eyelash extensions that are stuck onto your eyelashes”? She got them done a few weeks ago in a salon and has a few random ones left which won’t come off. So, do we know how to get rid of the stragglers?

You can buy special bonding agent removers but actually anything like an emollient, cream, or oils are the eyelash bonding agent’s worst enemy, so whip out your oily eye makeup remover and some cotton buds and get dabbing gently around the roots of the ones you’ve still got clinging on. That should shift them!

Hi I am a trainer for Eyelash Extensions in Ireland. This is my professional advice: Oil might work after several applications and pulling but that might damage your own lashes and the oil might not be safe for the eyes. I will recommend that always go to a professional to take it . This is done using bond removers owned only by certified professionals; this will just slide the lashes off without any pain or damage. Remover are also formulated with eye safety in mind. Certified Places you can get this done are L.A. Makeup Academy on Dame St., Tony and Guy on Clarendon St., Lemons Beauty Salon in Clontarf. Good Luck

I had lash extensions done about a month and a half ago and I love them! I was told that the first time you get your set of lashes, they will last between 1-4 weeks. Then after a fill, it should last 4-8 weeks. I had to get a fill after 3 weeks. Now I’m waiting to see how long it will last. The reason for the short term stay of your first time lashes is because you have to remember not to rub them and not to use oil based products, etc…. Once you’re aware of your delicate lashes, it should last for weeks.
