We talk a lot on beaut.ie about cosmetic treatments as well as miracle products that claim to turn back time, re-invent gravity and lots of other things that Einstein would be interested to know about. And the claims made by most cosmetic companies for their products are often from the realm of the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny, unfortunately.
We do our best to myth-bust on the blog and we’d never claim that there was a cream that would effectively reverse the signs of aging. No, we’d be more of the school of ‘prevention is better than cure’ and using appropriate products in the first place, and if you do have serious issues you want to sort out, then we’d most likely advise you to have a chat with a reputable surgeon. Because surgery really is the only way to get rid of deep lines and wrinkles.
However, (ah, you knew there was a however, didn’t you?) there is good news! There are a lot of treatments available these days that bridge the gap between surgery and salon treatments. Treatments such as facial peels, laser treatments, endermologie, microdermabrasion and facial fillers are all non-surgical – but also really effective.
If you like the sound of that, then Renew Aesthetic Clinic in Dublin is a place I’d definitely recommend for a trip or 4. It’s run by two lovely ladies called Sinead and Jeanette who are both qualified nurses, so you know you’re going to be in good hands. They offer a range of treatments which will give you great results, like Glycolic facial peels to resurface skin; medical laser treatment for unwanted hair, thread veins, age spots and birthmarks; Restylane facial fillers to smooth out lines and wrinkles; endermologie to aid inch loss and reduce cellulite, as well as microdermabrasion and colonic hydrotherapy.
Price are good too – Glycolic peels start from €80, colonics are €120 and laser treatment is from €80 also. Renew Aesthetic Clinic is located just off Baggot St in a discreet location, and if you’re interested in having a little work done, give them a call! Renew can be contacted on 01- 6619261.

I was just thinking about looking into thread vein removal for the capillaries around my nose, if they don’t improve. Thankfully, they do seem to be dying down a bit but this looks like a good place to keep in mind!
I have a really deep frown line, which I hate because it always makes me look cross. For ages now I’ve been considering Restylane but I always baulk at the idea because I feel like I’m finally crossing the line between the realms of beauty treatments and cosmetic surgery. Not that I’m against the idea of surgery, not at all, but I can’t help but wonder that if I’m getting injectables at 27, then where will I be at 37? – getting a full facelift?
I probably think way too much about it, and that won’t help the frown line. The glycolic peel sounds intriguing though. Very intriguing…
