Have You Ever Paid Over The Odds For Sold Out Beauty Bits Like Mac Golden Gaze?

limited edition golden gaze

I'm as big a fan of limited edition releases as the next beauty nut - provided, that is, they're still on-counter or available online by the time I've gathered together my sheckles and gotten around to buying them. Most limited edition stuff moves faster than Hussein Bolt, and all too often the lovely bits whose release dates have been pencilled into every diary and calendar I own and whose press pictures and swatches I've been drooling over are sold out practically before they go on sale. (Check our rapidly increasing SS12 trend and collection rundown here)

There's a hole in my heart shaped like MAC Golden Gaze eyeshadow that will never be filled, and I could live with missing out on limited edition items if I thought they were selling out because genuine consumers like myself were snapping them up for personal use. It seems to me that's quite often not the case.

Even though many brands try to combat reselling by restricting limited edition sales to two or three items per person, there are some who buy limited edition beauty products with the express intention of flogging them on eBay at a vastly inflated price, cheating their peers out of lovely beauty stuff and then conflating the offense by trying to turn a profit at the expense of the bereft.
