On the Level: Daily Energizer Skincare from Clarins For 20-Somethings

I've said it 95 times before and I'll say it another 95 times in the future no doubt, but the best thing you can do for your skin to ensure it stays looking great for the longest possible time is to get into a routine in your 20s. A decent moisturiser and an SPF are the two essentials you need to insure against UV damage and dehydration. That's it, nothing fancy, no mad anti-ageing creams or doohickeys required at that stage.

Problem is, decent skincare can often seem prohibitively expensive when you're in your 20s, in - or not long out of - college or in your first job. And yeah, I know, keeping cash for going-out threads and booze is your priority (or eh, it totally was when I was in my early 20s) and it's hard to justify the spend, even though you're well aware it's worth it.

We clapped Darphin on the back recently for their entry level and affordable Hydraskin Essential moisturiser, and now it's Clarins' turn for some love, because while this is a brand that can be pretty pricey, that's not a problem with the new Daily Energizer line, where prices start at €12.75 for a cleansing gel.

There's also a wake up booster - a vitamin-enriched toner - for €19, and three differing moisturisers for varying skintypes, all of which cost €25 - so very comparable to Clinique, for example, a brand often favoured by this age-group. If you've got normal/combo skin, choose the cream gel, if skin is normal/dry, go for the cream, and there's also a lotion option, with SPF15 (the other two are SPF-less), designed for combo skins.
