Beaut.ie Jury: Do I dare to try Rapidlash?

lash

I have a confession to make: I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat. I have a tube of Rapidlash eyelash enhancing serum, €49.99, in my hands and ... I'm scared to use it. My eyelashes could definitely do with some enhancing, but I'm wary of many things - irritation, redness and pain being just a few.

I've searched for product reviews online and while our own Beaut.ie guinea pig had no adverse reactions when she trialled it, many users say they had irritation and soreness for the first while when using, but that it eventually went away. Even if the results are amazing, I'm not sure I want to go through the reactive stage first, though.

Then there are the users who develop darkness or discolouration on their eyelids where they've applied the treatment - eek! The FAQ on the product website even addresses this, but their reply that the product isn't intended to darken the skin and users should discontinue use if they experience unwanted darkness doesn't really inspire confidence.

The product website doesn't provide a full ingredient list, but the ingredients they do mention (peptides, hyaluronic acid and biotin among them) all sound very natural and nurturing. But I already have a tried-and-tested natural and nurturing eyelash treatment in the form of Talika Lipocils - would Rapidlash be any better and would it be worth the pain?

For now I'm leaving the unopened tube of Rapidlash to one side. I'm just not feeling adventurous enough to give it a shot. But what about you? Would you be willing to risk the side effects for the possibility of fuller, longer lashes?
