Getting Our Scribble on With Three Fab New Eye Liners

Forget Red Bull, we beaut.ie beauty aficionados know that it’s liner that gives you wings.  Laura has us well schooled in the art of the perfect cat-eye, and this season the beauty world is obliging us with a bumper crop of luxury liners to ensure our flicks are on fleek.

Launching on September 14th, the Little Black Liner from Estée Lauder is already making waves in the beauty community for its sheer versatility. A companion product to their Little Black Primer (read about that here), this is a dual-ended multi-tasker that helps to create three different liner looks.

At one end, there’s a pointed tip which gives really precise daytime definition. But the other side is where the real innovation lies. A double width ‘paddle’ shape, this gives two effects: used on its thinner side, you get a slightly thicker line, but turn it over and you get a full on, 60s-style wing.

On counter now, Clinique’s Pretty Easy eyelining pen, €22.50, is – as you might gather from the name – all about ease of application. Instead of a felt tip pen nib, you get a really flexible, fine brush tip that tapers to a point, and creates a clean line of colour that can be as subtle or built up as you’d like. Of the two available colours, black and brown, I have the black and it gives a lovely rich and saturated sweep of colour that – hand on heart – I do find easier to control.

Black is of course the classic but, if you want to shake things up a little, colour is where it’s at. For autumn, bronzes, coppers and olive greens are bang on-trend: the new Chanel collection comes with four lovely and wearable hues of Stylo Yeux Waterproof liner, €24 a pop, which are creamy, dreamy and manage to last ages, even on the waterline.
