Clarins Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate: S.O.S. Treatment To The Winter Rescue!

Its image once suffered from the phenomenon of “Granny bang” but Clarins is officially having a moment. From hydrating eye creams to contouring powders, their offerings are currently knocking it out of the park.

So with the temperature dropping (and with the added joy of having baltic temperatures on their way from next weekend), I browsed the Clarins shelves in the hopes of finding something to help my winter-sensitive and dry skin.

Clarins Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate is not new to the market but it’s often overlooked in favour of it’s fancy pants serum brethern. My reddened skin was an emergency and when I saw S.O.S. on this little bottle, I felt that is was my kindred, flaky spirit.

It is not a cheap purchase at €40 for 15 ml, but it is intended as an intensive treatment when your skin is unhappy as opposed to a strict daily addition to your routine. One to two pumps is enough to cover the face and neck. I used it under my moisturiser in the morning and evening and the runny, oily consistency was light enough to not clog the pores.

The key ingredients are gentle and calming - ximenia extract moisturises, soya and avocado replenishes while lavender, marjoram and mint essential oils soothe and reduce redness.

I used this as a two week rehab for my irritated and sensitised skin. I wasn’t sure if it’s gentle nature would be up to the task but I hang my sceptical head. The results were fantastic - my hydrated, toned and balanced skin made up for the hefty price tag.

I’ll be keeping this as an occasional and luxurious treatment to top up my skin’s natural defences.
