NEW! Garnier Miracle Skin Cream: New Generation of Skincare-and-Coverage-in-One Promises Visible Results in Four Weeks. Review, Pics

This week, we've been on a mission to find the best lightweight, multi-purpose bases that will give you beautiful summer skin.

We've sifted through an endless batch of BB Creams and waded through an ocean of CC creams to find you the best there are.

There's some serious buzz around this new offering from Garnier, which seems to be something of a BB/CC combination. It's called the Miracle Skin Cream, and this product combines optical blurring elements with anti-ageing ingredients for a skin care/makeup hybrid that really is different to anything a BB or CC cream can offer.

When you first squeeze the cream from the tube, it's white. But when you rub the cream into the skin, the minuscule micro-capsules it contains burst to reveal pigment that offers some light coverage.

It's quite innovative in that the pigment is contained in microcapsules which keeps it separate from the active skincare ingredients. So this product really is like skincare with coverage rather than just a BB cream!

Garnier say that the universal shade suits all skin tones. Unfortunately, however, it doesn't work on my paler than pale skin - it just makes me look a bit orange. It does make a nice primer before my regular foundation though!

It contains seven anti-ageing ingredients, all of which pack some serious punch and aren't usually found in pharmacy skincare.  Jammed in here, you'll find:

  • LHA, an effective exfoliant
  • Pro-retinol, a key ingredient in collagen synthesis
  • Vitamin C derivatives to stimulate collagen production
  • Vitamins B3 and B5
  • Peptides, ginger extract and SPF 20

There's an entire skincare arsenal inside this tube! I'm not delighted about the fact that this cream is extremely perfumed, and does contain quite a bit of alcohol. But on the other hand, the texture is lovely and the finish is visibly radiant. The Miracle Skin Cream promises visible results in four weeks.

Garnier's Miracle Skin Cream is available nationwide at €19.99. Have you tried this product, or will you be giving it a go? Can you be pried away from your BB cream?
