RrrRRRr: Vincent Cassel the Face of YSL's New La Nuit de L'Homme

vincent cassel for YSL

Film buffs will remember Vincent Cassel as Vinz in La Haine, a tale of life in the grim outer suburbs of Paris, but I'd argue that his newest role as the face of Yves Saint Laurent's new fragrance for men, La Nuit de L'Homme, from €45, is his finest yet.

Yeah, he also starred alongside Messers Pitt and Clooney in two of the Oceans films which didn't hurt his standing a bit either, but just check that brooding, ugly-sexy thing he's got going on up there.

Ok, so he's no Henry Cavill or Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and he's also nowhere near as pretty a fella as Kylie's ex, Olivier Martinez, who's the face of the original scent, L'Homme, but bravo to YSL for making a bad boy the focus of their new campaign. Plus points too for appointing a gent who's over 40, and I have to say, I reckon he's doing a sterling job.

YSL think so too, and the press release (unintentionally hilariously) trumpets:

A man.
He is in the light.
But it’s his darker side that stirs.
That takes liberties. That unleashes his desires.
Defies convention. Plays with taboos.
Seduces...
With elegance

Liberties, is it? Jaysis Vincent, c'mere - you can take liberties with me any time you want!
