The Best Day Time Dresses Under €50

Dresses are one of the most convenient wardrobe staples. You pop them on, you're done. No stress dressing, that's what I call it. But what we need from a dress is to be very versatile so that we can wear it during the day and turn it into something different come evening time.

The key to getting this right is opting for styles that a a bit more pared back and that can be accessorised in different ways to create a completely different look. So we've been trawling our favourite shops to bring you some of our favourite day time dresses under €50, so you don't need to break the bank approaching the end of January.

Let's start with some that are work appropriate. We love a sleeve on our dresses, especially at a time of the year when it's a little chilly. Monochrome is a great work pattern, as it matches lot's of bright colours. You can even pop a bright colour cardigan over it as an extra layer.

If you prefer a pop of colour in your dress, stick to a nice structured piece and a style that has a kick flare to it or a-line shape. Just to keep it interesting!

As we approach the warmer months (whenever they decide to arrive) we can lighten up the fabrics and footwear. A little black dress can be layered under a blazer to keep it chic, and swap for a leather jacket for later.

Stripes are a huge trend for Spring Summer 2015, and we particularly love the vertical ones! They are so much easier to wear, and they're super flattering around the tum! New Look have a great selection of stripes for the new season; watch for the shirt dress (above) with it's belt detail too which gives lots of shape! It's a longer length, so a heel is definitely required.
