Maybelline Master Sculpt Contouring Palettes: We Love These

I'm lazy. I'm really very lazy altogether. I generally don't contour because it's hard work and I can't be bothered with it. My face is okay the way it is, so I generally pop on something to even out blemishes, add a cat eye and some brows (because they make me happy) and go about my day.

But I'm not at all opposed to contouring if it won't interfere with my laziness. Recently, I've been warming up my complexion with clever products  and enjoying looking a little fresher and more summery. When the new Master Sculpt Contouring Palettes from Maybelline hit Beaut.ie offices this week, I just knew my lazy summer skin dreams had come true.

They come in two shades - Light Medium (above right) and Medium Dark (above left). These products are shockingly easy to use, and despite my paleness, I prefer Medium Dark because it doesn't contain that hint of orange you can see in the lighter shade. Despite the powder texture, these are pleasurably soft and smooth to use, and they buff happily onto the skin without streaking. If you're using a very moist foundation formulation, be sure to powder the area first to prevent your contouring from catching in patches.

A nice fluffy buffing brush will be very much at home with these, but the brush that comes with it is actually very impressive. A dead ringer for the half-moon brush you might know from Chanel's Les Beiges Powders, but with synthetic hairs and a touch stiffer, they allow you to apply a clean line below your cheekbone, then buff it away. The brush is also brilliant for sweeping the highlighter across the high points of the face.

With a clever brush like this, a built-in mirror and two products in this compact, it's a steal at €10.75. Here is the Medium Dark version on the skin.
