Friday Feelings: What Was The First Makeup You Ever Bought?

We've been feeling nostalgic here at Beaut HQ today. It's the weather. Dark and gloomy, cold May Days really make you think. Also, we published an article on childhood games earlier so that would bring up the old memories too

We've spoken about Constance Carroll and her pound shop friends before (we're sure we still have a rosy/gold-ish shimmery lipstick of hers in some corner of our childhood bedroom that's still the exact same as when we left it when we moved out a million years ago.)

The first make-up type item I bought was an orange tinted Clearasil cover stick but I don't count it as makeup. It was a medical necessity! The first significant makeup I threw my pennies at was a Max Factor powder compact - also orange. How come teenagers these days don't go around with orange faces? They know so much. Internet, that's it.

Anyway, I soon moved on to Rimmel and even if my foundation was still quite the fetching shade of terracotta I combated it by layering on the translucent powder so heavily it looked like I had flour all over my face.

That moment, however, of browsing through the makeup bargain bins and picking up something you thought would be just the ticket to grown-up town and handing over your hard earned pocket money; that was really something.

What was the first makeup item you bought with your own money? Did you plan it out or was it an impulse buy? Are you still loyal to it or was it a complete disaster? How did you feel when you bought it? Let's share our feelings this Friday!
