A beautician has just been fined €6000 after illegally performing botox beauty treatments at her Dublin salon, even after she had been told not to and that it was illegal. Dear Lord.
The Dublin district court heard last week of a woman who reported an allergic reaction following a botox treatment at the woman's clinic. Viktoriya Bulakova has since plead guilty on all charges, contrary to the Medicines Board Act. The beautician faced a staggering 19 charges for the unlawful importing, advertising and administering of the anti-wrinkle drug at her Blanchardstown beauty salon - Visona Beauty.
Worryingly, while the woman is said to have had some training in Russia, none of her 'qualifications' were recognised here. With offences dating back to May 2013 right through to this year, the woman was eventually summoned to appear at the Dublin District Court.

The woman admitted she had imported and “administered Botox on a number of clients over a period of time”. Her defence counsel pleaded for leniency because she had co-operated with authorities and paid their legal costs of €1500. The judge ruled that Bulankova would be expected to pay fines of €1,000 on six of the charges. Furthermore, should she fail to pay the total amount within four months, she will be jailed for 21 days in default.
