This week we had a good old natter with the owners of Irish candle company, Max Benjamin. Brothers, Mark and David Van den Bergh, run the company that was founded by their sister Orla in the early 1990s in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow. And the brand is named after Orla’s sons, Max and Ben.
The scents are just gawjus and the range has everything from diffusers to tea lights and candles. And yes, we love the fact that it's a quality Irish brand.
They've just launched a brand new line called the ‘Tea Collection’, which as the name suggests is based on tea scents. And we Irish DO love our tea. There are five candles in the range:
- Assam & Lemon
- Lime Flower & Lavender
- Raspberry & Ginseng
- Serene Jasmine
- Victorian Earl Grey
Each candle comes in a lidded tin similar to a tea caddy, beautifully designed and also double layered (meaning no hot tins and burnt fingers). If you travel a lot, these can make hotel rooms seem more welcoming or just pop 'em on the mantelpiece to brighten up those dark evenings.
