Kinvara Absolute Cleansing Oil: We’re Crazy About This Irish Skincare Brand

By Laura | September 29 2014 | 13 Comments

There’s nothing quite as refreshing as finding excellent skincare that’s made right here at home. Irish women are becoming increasingly educated about the needs of their skin. I’d heard about Irish skincare brand Kinvara, and have been eager to try it out for a long time.

I recently got my hands on their absolute cleansing oil. The range is small for now – consisting of the oil, a moisturiser and a serum. The oil is one of the best I’ve ever used (you can check out what products came out tops in our Best in Beautie Awards 2014 here).

The formula is 85% organic, and contains no nasties whatsoever. It’s a blend of pure oils, and is a brilliant multi-tasker. A tiny pump from the 100ml bottle will cleanse your entire face, including the eye area. Massage it in and wipe with a warm flannel for plumped, balanced skin without a hint of tightness. It is a brilliant cleanser. This little bottle will last for months, but it isn’t limited just to cleansing.

Because there isn’t anything except oil in here, it makes a lovely moisturising oil. It also makes a soothing shaving oil, and a tiny drop added to your foundation will give a radiant glow.

At €20 for a bottle containing such high quality ingredients, which will last for months (Kinvara claim that one bottle contains 108 pumps) this is an absolute steal. If you need a cleansing oil, I can’t recommend this one highly enough. You’ll find it over on Kinvara’s website; I’ll definitely be seeking out the rest of this range. If the other products are half as good as this one, they’re must-haves.

Have you tried this? Will you be giving it a go? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!

Looks good alright & might have to give it a go. One thing to note though is that essential oils are great but sometimes you need to use caution with them if you have an medical concerns (for example Cederwood, which is included in the ingredients, is supposed to be used with caution during the 1st trimester in pregnancy). Like that it’s an Irish brand. Is there any shops it’s available in?

      Thanks for the terrific review.
If your skin has any tendency to flare up or get itchy, tread carefully re the eucalyptus and the rosemary oils, they are a little strong on delicate skin. (If Liz Earle’s hot cloth cleanser irritated you, that’s a guide re this cleansing oil)
I get a bit snippy when sunflower oil is the main ingredient, when paying 20 quid….but I’ll deff give this range a go……thanks

Great review Laura – love a fantastic, Irish product.

Thanks for the fab review Laura!

This product has gained a lot of new fans since it won bronze at the Free From Skincare Awards in the UK in July. These awards recognise products that are free from potential irritants.

In terms of the oils, it contains less than 1% of the 5 different essential oils in this wash off product which has been thoroughly tested and certified by a safety assessor. We are all wonderfully unique and complex so we would always recommend a patch test, especially as many of our customers feel their skin is sensitive.

In terms of stockists, we are available in almost 100 outlets across the country. See a full list here – http://www.kinvaraskincare.com/index.php/stockists

I have tried all 3 products, just coming to the end of them now. I would definitely re-purchase, especially the serum which is great and smells fab!!

  • Shygirl says:

Oh the cleansing oil sounds great! Great review!

  • SuzyQ says:

I use the cleansing oil and I find it brilliant. It dissolves make up easily and leaves your face soft and neither tight nor shiny, I couldn’t ask for more than that

  • Rua says:

Love the sound of this. I’m desperate for 1 cleanser to do everything. I don’t have the energy for more than that at the end of a long day. This sounds ideal. Thanks!

  • Olga says:

Where can I buy this brand in Cork? I’d live to try it

  • salsera says:

Anything that has rosemary oil in it is most definitely not free from irritants!
