The Oscars nominations were announced recently and I got butterflies in my tummy just THINKING about the red carpet couture that awaits. Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock, Amy Adams, Lupita Nyong'o, Jared Leto, Michael Fassbender, Julia Roberts...I shall be glued to the screen, slobbering over frocks, heels and tuxedos.
But the one that I am most excited to see swanning in (i.e. walking gracefully, not channelling Bjork's 2001 Oscars dress) is Cate Blanchett.
This woman is a style goddess - I just love how she makes daring dress decisions and looks like she couldn't give a hoot what the critics think.

But we all, goddesses included, have to start somewhere. These early pics (including one where she looks the SPIT of Steffi Graf ) show that she has honed her fashion craft over the years. And that she has always had the flawless complexion of a 20 year old.
