Love her, hate or find her a little bit meh, there is no denying the mesmerising power of Kim’s lashes. They’re practically sweeping the floor! So if there was one piece of kit I really wanted to try from the sisters’ new beauty line, it was this mini mascara quartet, which has the added bonus of creating an instant mascara wardrobe an’ all.
With its lash lengthening and thickening claims, The Quickie sounded promising, but alas it was not to be. After recent experiments with lash extensions and occasional lashes mine are a shadow of their former selves, stumpier than ever and at varying lengths. I felt this mascara emphasised that and looked a little bit clumpy. This is the only wand with rubber bristles in the set.
I fared better with Stroke of Midnight, which aims to deliver a false lash look with extra volume. This lengthened and defined my lashes nicely but there was no volumising action going on at all – instead it gave me a pretty, wispy and fanned out effect that I really liked.
Eye Fidelity is billed as a longlasting, waterproof mascara and it’s pretty good – the brush is a traditional bristle brush, though shaped like an hourglass, and it delivered a lengthened but natural looking result. The formula seems quite dry and thin but it’s buildable – it’s a decent everyday mascara, and would be handy for your holliers. Like most waterproof mascaras it’s a bit of a pain in the hoop to take off.

The biggest surprise in the set was the Whip Lash Eyelash Health mascara and my experience with it serves to emphasise why sets like this are such a good idea. I would never in a million years have bought this product because it sounds so gimmicky.
But it absolutely blew me away – it’s bleedin’ brilliant!
It delivered long, defined, fanned out lashes with way more volume than Stroke of Midnight. The secret lies in the unique shape of the brush – there are very short bristles on one side, while on the other they get increasingly longer, like a right angled triangle. I use the flat side to apply the product first and comb it through with the triangular side so that there’s no clumps. I’m still not convinced by the lash health bit, but this is an exceptional product nonetheless.

The Khroma Beauty Mascara Quartet is €26.95 from Cloud10Beauty. I’m also intrigued by the trio of face palettes, one for each sister – they come with eight eyeshadows, plus a bronzer, blusher and highlighter that looks similar to the Naked Flushed palette from Urban Decay. Kim’s Ultra Nude Lip Set ‘Au Naturel’ sounds interesting too. Hmm. Basically, it seems like I want to try it all. And you? Is there anything calling your name?
