First Look: Benefit Fake Up, Coming Soon!

Benefit Fake Up

Benefit’s gorgeous ambassadors, Maggie and Annie Ford Danielson (daughters of Jean and nieces of Jane) were in town last week to launch their latest product, Fine One One – with a little help from us! While they were here they also introduced us to a rather fabulous product in the pipeline: Fake Up - The Great Hydrating Concealer Coverup.

As ever with Benefit they did things the quirky way – remember the all singin’ all dancin’ Glamouriety event? – and the launch involved a madcap whodunnit as we tried to figure out who'd stolen all the Fake Up samples.

But let’s put fun and frolics to one side for a second, because this is a seriously good concealer for the undereye area. Encased in a silver bullet with a hot pink design, Fake Up is comprised of a concealing core of pigment, surrounded by a clear gel ‘hydrating ring’. With vitamin E and apple seed extract, this promises to keep skin smooth and hydrated for up to 6 hours. My skin is dehydrated all year round (not sure exactly what that is? Check out this post) and has been literally drinking up this lovely, lightweight product.

It won’t crease up or dry out the skin under your eyes, can be used under or over makeup or all on its own and, just like YSL’s iconic Touche Eclat, can be used as a complexion highlighter, too. It gives a lovely dewy effect that’s very pretty in the light.

Available in three shades – light, medium, and dark – this hits counters in April priced at €26.50. What do you think, will you be giving it a try?
