Marian Keyes isn’t the only one who’s manicure mad. The world’s obsession (well half of it, anyway) with all things nailtastic shows no sign of slowing down, and it seems like not a day goes past without a brand new spanking new nail launch to get all het up and excited about. If you feel like you can’t keep up, fret not – we’ve got you covered. All this week we’ll be showing you the best SS13 nail polish releases, kicking off with Essie today.
The spring collection is inspired by some of the most fashionable cities in the world: New York, London, Paris, Munich, Tokyo and Rio. It’s full of soft milky hues with one eye popping orange red to brighten up the mix. Here’s the full shade breakdown:
- Madison Ave-Hue – chic upper east side pink (with silver shimmer)
- Go Ginza- soft cherry blossom pink
- Avenue Maintain – lovely Parisian blue
- Bond With Whomever – poshLondonlilac
- Maximillian Strasse Her – cool grey green
- Hip-Anema – poppy-bright red orange
These two pretties, Madison Ave-Hue and Bond With Whomever, landed on my desk on a day that was in desperate need of some brightening – so I hastily slapped on a couple of coats of the lilac. This is when I remembered just how very, very good Essie can be.
Check out that lovely subtle silver shimmer
This type of milky pastel tends to be problematic, and I am very slapdash, not to mention being in an almighty rush to finish before the boss arrived in. And yet despite all of these factors in a couple of minutes I had perfectly painted, smooth and glossy nails. Remarkable. Even at the new lower price of €9.99, Essie is expensive as nail polish goes – but you can’t argue with the quality or the result, so I really don’t grudge shelling out a little more.
The Essie Spring Collection is out this month and you’ll find it in Boots or Superdrug. Which colour’s your pick of the bunch?
