There’s no oil glands around the eyes, so they need extra moisture, but eyes are sensitive, so creams have to be particularly formulated. Also, the area around the eyes os one of the most active parts of the face, which leads to more fine lines than on the cheeks, for example. The skin around the eyes is also more prone to fluid retention than other parts of the face, so eye creams are specially formulated to treat this too.
I’m a Stri-Vectin eye cream girl myself, I think it really helps.
