Hi Diva, will keep that in mind and do a little patch test with very dilute ACV first so, heard wonderful things about it so its worth a go(anything is at this stage even if it is smelly).

Thanks again Molly for the detailed info, yes I lost about 5 layers that week with the BP - never again! Perhaps my dry skin and your oily skin aint so different...it's an endless balance trying to be gentle to my skin when all it wants is to misbehave : (

@misspurkle BP Im taking Benzyl Peroxide, I have extremely oily skin and this stuff destroyed my skin...And oily skin is thicker than other skin types. One beautician said it looked like my entire top layer of skin was about to come off with it.
Put on prescription for Differin-7 months of religious use, my oily kin became flaky, super sensitive, horrible. My skin actually improved when I came off it. For me, harsh medicine creams are not the answer and do huge damage to your skin. My skin thanked me coming off the Differin-it looked amazing after I came off it, guess it was saying thank you for stopping putting that on me!
Hope it works out for you!

@misspurkle I have tried a mixture of apple cider vinegar and green tea as a toner. I definitely wouldn't reccomend it if you have sensitive skin. I found it stingy and a bit smelly! It does help with inflamation though.

thanks for the reply Reme, some very sound advice Molly and thanks for sharing your routine I will look into those products. My skin is very dry, not oily at all and sensitive to everything, tried BP cream and my face swelled up that I could hardly open my eyes, had to take a week off work! going to be VERY careful with everything I put on my face from now on.

These topcoats sound interesting, must go check them out. Caved today and got a chubby stick while buying fathers day present, don't know quite how I ended up at the clinique stand....they must have subliminal messaging.....

@misspurkle
I'd try small changes first, giving one product a month and see how its going. Don't be fooled by products that seem to work in the first few days, you may find after a month there are not the miracle product you first thought.

Things that work for me (oily skin with acne, esp with inflammation)
La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
LRP Effaclar Cleanser for fragile Oily skin, its a mousse
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish (I switch between the two cleansers)
Make up remover: Jane Iredale Magic Mitt (So good-no cleanser needed)
Use a Noreva range from France, in particular the Exfoliac Lotion as if you acne you will need something with AHA and BHAs in it, unfort not stocked in Ireland, but can order online.

Chest acne from sport and fake tan: Witch Hazel (keep in fridge)
Must try that aspirin mask-I still get bad inflammation!

Be careful; coconut oil and aloe vera on your face- may cause further breakouts; depends on the individual.

Personally, I think face masks for acne are a waste-again just my opinion. I prefer saving up and getting a peel done every once and a while.

Disclaimer: as anyone with acne knows, different approaches work for different people!!

Hi misspurkle, thanks for sharing your list of natural skincare ingredients. I've only tried the rosehip oil myself (fab for winter) so don't have any advice for you unfortunately but I'll definitely give a few of them ago myself. Will add to the shopping list!

Huge congratulations JuMol on finishing your Leaving Cert exams! My LC is but a distant memory (last century... eek!) but I finished a post-grad a few weeks ago. There certainly is a bit of an anti-climax initially but the sense of relief will come! Take a week to rest and unwind, then prioritise catching up with friends and family and enjoy your summer. In July you'll feel renewed and by the time the LC results are out in August you'll be ready to plan your next steps. Exciting times in store for you!

Catrice topcoats are now also being added to my shopping list. Beaut.ie should get commission from all thes brands haha!

Has anyone seen Rock of Ages? Cringey or fun or both?

Thanks Aisling, had to take the plunge at some stage and start getting involved : ) Thankfully the football hasn't bothered me too much except when on Facebook : /

One thing I am on the hunt for is a sealed(!) 1000 kisses lip color...the only places I've come across this the caps aren't sealed and they are all tested.... : (
