We’ve got a great guest post today from brillo blogger CherrySue. She does the do with beauty, film and lots more – check her blog out here – but she has a particular gra for nails. She’s done us a really impressive yet easy-to-achieve Valentine’s Day nail art look below. Take it away CherrySue!

If it weren’t for making up cheesy poems and writing them left handed into my lads’ Valentine’s cards I’d be completely left out on February 14th.

Whinge, whinge, right?

Not really. I’m a sucker for all things love hearty and glittery and these nails are no exception. What can I say, they make me happy.

valentine's nails how to

I’ve used the ‘paperclip method’ to make my hearts, it’s probably the easiest example of nail art I know, which is very forgiving for cack handedness (thankfully).

It’s as simple as one dip of the clip (just the tip) into your colour of choice and onto the nail. You can touch the clip onto your paper if you feel you’ve used too much polish. You could also practice one or two hearts on your paper to see how simple it is before working on your nails. Simply make a ‘V’ on the nail bed in random places.

These nails can be recreated using any combination of colours but I thought Barry M’s Red Glitter over a base of Chanel’s Graphite was the perfect choice for the day itself.

Be sure to finish with a high shine top coat to make the glitter sparkle and keep your design in place.
