Sevda, you put the clear gel on before normal polish. You can get it with some of the home kits with the lamps. Regular polish will then stay on for weeks without chipping.

Lads you are getting ripped off AGAIN in Ireland, ive seen these in my local Ulta for around $60. Btw there has been a big thing on the news awhile back about the UV lamps and how its aging hands they are now recommending wearing sunscreen to protect your hands.

I just have one major concern with gel nails. the damage that can happen to your nails. my nails are bad enough with a basecoat etc and would be ten times worse if I didn’t use a base coat.

nails need to breath to be healthy and strong. I have herded pure horror storys from people who had far strong nailed that now brake off after a certain length.

so I’m not really gone on the whole trend, and,I hope it’s just a trend that will die out.

I have to agree with OtherMary that these kits could end up not being used and it’s an awful lot of money to throw at something that dose more damage than good.

I get gel nails done. Not colour or french just clear gel and then paint my nails whatever colour I want. It lasts ages. I would say I get around 10-14 days with regular nail polish.

I bought the RCM set it is fab. My normal nail polish never last more than two days. You can apply any normal nail varnish on top of the gel one if you get bored. You need to remove it with acetone free nail polish remover and if you do your gel nails are perfect underneath,Its my best buy for years. Plus your nails grow super long underneath just remember to use nail oil on your cuticles daily.

Pink- interesting. What do you mean by clear gel? Do you put it on before and after normal polish? Where do you get it?

I’ve probabably said this a million times on here before, but those UV lamps cause skin cancer. If that doesn’t deter you, get the clear gel. You can paint over with it with regular polish and the colour won’t chip. That way you can change the colour when you get sick of it.

I bought the Sensationail kit a few months ago in Boots and I love it! Have definitely gotten my money’s worth already. I would rarely get 3 days without some kind of chip/peeling with ordinary polish. My nails are longer and stronger now. It takes a few attempts to get it perfect but I have it down to a fine art now and love it. I regularly just do a clear gel manicure and put an “ordinary” colour polish over it and it lasts ages too. I get a month out of a pedicure.

Sevda The best polishes hairspray do are the 5th avenue gel ones. Their own brand are a bit gloppy and glittery
