Blue Nails Still Too Cool For School! Five Fab Shades - Max Factor, Revlon, L'Oreal, Chanel

Blue Nail Polish

We tipped blue nails as a key trend as long ago as last spring but, fuelled by this year's love for all things aquatic, this is one trend that's not going anywhere fast. Pale to mid tone blues are cropping up everywhere right now - including the Autumn/Winter catwalks. These five fab shades will keep your talons trendy well into next season.

Blue Nail Polish Summer 2012

ONE Part of the 18 strong range of  Max Factor Minis (check out the full range here!),  Dazzling Blue is a blue/green duochrome that goes on smoothly and is opaque in two coats. Price wise these slide in at just under a fiver, so it's happy days!

TWO  I showed you Revlon's Blue Lagoon in this post and though it's from last summer, it's still one of my favourite polishes. Tipped as a dupe for Chanel's Riva, this is a pretty light aqua shade with subtle iridescent shimmer.

Revlon Dreamer and Revlon Blue Lagoon Nail Polish

THREE One of Revlon's more recent offerings, Dreamer is a sky blue cream. Like most pastel shades this one's a three coater but the final result is so pretty that it's totally worth the effort. Like Blue Lagoon, this is  €9.15.

FOUR Released as part of spring's Miss Candy collection, this polish is, for me, the highlight of the range. It's a duck egg blue with a really pretty blue shimmer in the bottle, that doesn't really translate to the nail. The L'Oreal Color Riche polishes are €7.55.

FIVE Chanel's Blue Boy is the mid toned shade from the Les Jeans de Chanel collection. It's a beautiful grey tinged blue with a faded, muted quality that makes it stand out from the crowd. Oh and you might want to mark July 13th in your diary, too - it's when Chanel's Sky Line is released, that pale pearly blue we told you about here. These are €25.
