The Dita Von Teese fashion collection: super stylish, super classy. Marilyn Manson eat your heart out

The ever-so-glamorous Dita Von Teese is a perfect style icon. It’s not enough that we’re all sick with envy thanks to her flawless looks (see us rave about her ArtDeco makeup collection here), but now she’s launched her own fashion line which is equally fabulous and even makes us hate her just a little bit, just because it’s so gorge!

Her debut collection is stunning, sleek and very, very classy. It is also completely unlike her stage costumes. The iconic burlesque performer shows off her hourglass, to-die-for figure in a range of ultra feminine, classic  dresses and a coat that yours truly would kill for. The starlet looks like she’s come right out of Hollywood which I’m sure, was the desired intent.‘The Dita Von Teese Collection’ which comprises feminine retro-inspired dresses – was first launched in Australia earlier this year and then in the USA in October. Each of the flattering looks harks back to an age when glamour was a priority – which sums up the star completely.

It’s only now that we’re getting a peak at the detailed items from the line, and though black features heavily, the clothes look so divine that we’ll forgive her for only adding a splash of colour to the collection thus far.

The initial collection features five standout pieces like the “Follow me” and the “Second Look,” and a tulle-lined full–skirted trench coat, the “VIP Coat,” all of which Von Teese named personally. Further distinguishing the collection, each style is available in a vast range of sizing up to U.S. size 16. She said it was very important that her collection could cater to all shapes and sizes: “Offering styles that cater to women of all sizes is very important to me. The collection is designed to complement a multitude of body shapes, so every woman can celebrate her natural beauty and feel sexy in a gorgeous dress.”

Ms Von Teese spoke to VogueUK earlier this month about the collection and says that she loves the whole vintage look, and it was shopping in these vintage shops that inspired her collection.  “Vintage stores are where I buy all my clothes,” she says.  “I love the thrill of the hunt.” The collection only has a few statement pieces so far, so I’m hoping she adds more in the future. Though the collection is clearly high fashion, I could easily see myself wearing a dress or two.

The collection is unfortunately not one to buy if you’re on a budget – the minimum you must pay per piece is $350 going right up to $995 – but the clothing is so darn gorgeous that I’d buy the lot if I could! Whether I’d look as good as Dita in the dresses however is another story. For those interested in where to buy, www.shopdecadesinc.com has the entire line (which also features an alternate ‘Tyrst Trench Coat’ exclusive to the site), and they do ship internationally.

What do you think of the collection? Would you save your hard earned cash for a statement piece? Let us know in the comments below!

Dita is so fantastic – I think if she designed an aul black sack collection and modeled it we’d still swoon!

  • Kitty In The City says:

Lovely, but not at that price. Would rather purchase something from Stop Staring http://www.stopstaringclothing.com/sunshop/

  • Miss Y. says:

Good lord, this is truly to die for!

And here I was thinking we’d get some cheap-*ss ill-fitting range of clothes from a budget brand as some stars like to do…

Mmm such a shame that it is way above my budget :(

Agree on the art deco collection as well btw- also gorgeous!

  • Shygirl says:

This is all so elegant and classy. I love the VIP Coat.

  • Jennifer says:

I nearly died when I saw the clothes, I want them all, especially the Bon Bon dress. You have to love Dita, she has impeccable taste and is so classy.

  • red*razors says:

i am really impressed! shame the prices are completely out of my league. that follow me dress is beyond beautiful. obviously, it’d be great to have her figure too. sigh. i’ll just get my paper bag…

  • Louise says:

Swooooning!! I love Dita! Wish I was her! I’d buy everything in this collection if I could! Then I’d at least be dressing like her!

  • Fairy Godmother says:

I love the vintage style. I would wear everyone of these. *swoon* I wouldn’t be able to afford the $995 but if if the dresses are $395 I’d consider it for a special occasion(or ten special occasions – the price versus wear ratio is how I justify it!)

  • Jennifer says:

I’m the same – if I were going to an ultra special occasion, I honestly would try and save for one of the dresses in the lower price bracket. They are all stunning, so I really don’t think you need to spend a grand to buy the most expensive item; I’d wear any of ‘em! And I honestly think that if you did splash out, if you took care of the dress or coat, it would be a statement piece that you could keep for years and it would never go out of fashion. Statement pieces rarely do I think.

Mmm not sure. This article reads like an advertorial, and I’m not completely convinced that DvT is as classy as all that. Good luck to her and everything, but she wouldn’t be my role model.

  • Jennifer says:

Well, it’s definitely not an advertorial, and nor did I write it as such, its just my thoughts on her collection. But hey, she won’t float everyone’s boat, which is totally grand. I think she has a hell of a lot more class than some of the celebrities out there today, but she is an acquired taste for some too! :)

  • Eimear says:

I adore Dita. The Second Look dress is stunning!

  • Jennifer says:

I also think the Follow Me dress is divine. Simple and elegant.

  • Edel says:

fabulous but totally out of my budget, drool

  • Jessabell says:

Love the Bon Bon dress but that price is outrageous… I would have far more respect for it and her if they were reasonably priced. She should have gone the quality but affordable for real women with real budgets. Not impressed with her going down that elitist route
