I live in the US and it seems we have some different shades here, but there is a brand on the internet called Paula's Choice, she makes several foundations who's lightest shades are too light for me, and very neutral. Also, Estee Lauder has very light shades in the Double Wear Line, the nude shade (the lightest) in the Resislience Lift Foundation is also a drop too light for me, so could work for some of you. I have fair skin, red hair and green/hazel eyes. The skin on my face has pink undertones, but my body is more yellow. To match my chest, however, I cannot wear yellow toned foundations. Hope this helps some of you out. I saw you have a shade called warm porcelain in Bobbi Brown's line. That shade is not available in the states. Her warm ivory is too yellow for me and the procelain is a drop too light, I was wondering if warm porcelain would work, if I could get my hands on it?

I was at the Bobbi Brown counter recently complaining that they'd discontinued Alabaster and the MUA said that they'd purposefully made the Porcelain shade in the new Long Wear Finish paler to compensate. I tried it on and it is lighter than their usual Porcelain colour. Just for info!

I can also confirm that YSL do foundation samples, at least the BT Dublin counter does!!

@Ladyjane: I think the "Linen" you're referring to is from Face2, but Makeupforever also have a very pale shade in their Face & Body Foundation (#38), the formulation is very sheer though so might not suit everyone.

Nars have a shade called "Siberia" - perfectly named since it's almost snow-white! I think it's the Sheer Matte one... (quite spendy, just above the 40euro mark as far as I remember)

Does anyone else find that the really pale foundations are often very heavy? Went on a foundation hunt recently and came out with 8 samples but most were too thick for me; now I'm torn between Makeupforever and YSL, definitely the two most natural-looking of the lot.

YSL DO give samples of the Touche Eclat foundation. I got a cute little bottle with 7 days worth of foundation at their counter in the Blackrock shopping centre without even asking. I was matched with the shade B20 but think I might need to go down a shade if I were to buy. Really nice texture and finish though.

I have really bad (rosacea, acne, oily AND dry) skin, which is also ridiculously pale, so I need full coverage but it looks terrible when it's too dark! I use the Estée Lauder Double Wear Maximum Cover, it lasts for ages and I only use a tiny bit because it's so pigmented. I get it in the shade 'Very light' (so pale they couldn't be bothered to think of a nice sounding name for it!)
