*confession bear* I actually think the remote control costume is clever…:P I dunno, it annoys me that women’s costumes are ALWAYS “sexy” and not the proper versions, but saying that it doesn’t really bother me when people dress like that, shur it’s their choice! This year I’m going as a devil (got most of the costume for €3 in dealz ) and a cop, cos my friend got excited about a group of us going as cops and robbers although, I’m half tempted to go as “zombie cop” just to switch it up!

a friend has sprung a party on me this weekend and i’m up to my ears trying to think of something clever. i’ll probably fall back on the only “sexy” costume i ever came up with and go as a victorian circus bearded/tattooed lady. to my shame, it does involve underwear [a victorian boned corset babydoll thing i got that has a small bustle and everything]. but i try to make up for that with flat shoes and opaque tights and shorts over them. usually i try for things that are completely non-sexy. i keep meaning to go as a jawa but haven’t managed to organise myself yet.

I went to a party two years ago dressed in normal clothes and said I was a serial killer (coz they generally just look like everyone else!). Basically i just couldn’t think of anything to dress up as and ran out of time. The funny thing was, people said I was genuinely scary as a serial killer!! What does that say about me?! haha!!

I am sooo happy about this post! I have an annual rant about how Halloween costumes should be scary and not sexy!! Best way to avoid these costumes is to make your own – just be a dead version of something – dead bride and groom; dead school teacher; if you really need a sexy part go as a dead cheerleader or something – I dressed as a dead prom queen a few years ago and it was very cheap and easy to do but very effective. There are some great Halloween make up tutorials on YouTube. Anyway when you see half of these sexy looks at 3.00 in the morning in abrakababra they look more like extras from night of the living dead!
