That does not look like a wig. Look at her hairline and parting, not even the best full-lace wigs look that natural. It looks like her own hair, lightened from black to that ruddy brown, and with custom-dyed extensions added.

It looks good on her but I would never trust just any extensioner (not a word!) to try and re-create it on me. The texture and blending is perfect.

I love Rooney Mara, I think she is absolutely fab and love the way she can change the way she looks and always look great! I wish I had the balls to do that. I loved the Salander look and the above Oscars photo and would love to get my hair undercut etc like Salander but to be honest working in a Government office kinda puts a stop to that….. I get weird looks for having a tragus piercing and five normal lobe piercings…..

Jealous that she can carry both off so well! I loved her Dragon Tattoo look though- it works on her so incredibly well. She can do beautiful, cute, pretty or stunning. Such a good face and I have loved her acting so far. I was a huge fan of the original Dragon Tattoo films and was not expecting much from the Hollywood version, but it was her performance that changed my mind.

GWTDT was robbed during awards season IMO. If not Rooney Mara then at least the make-up/costume should have been more recognised for their work by the Oscars etc. They created such an amazing character visually.

I am actually considering a dramatic change at the moment. I’m a mousy non-colour naturally and have gone from highlights to getting a full-on bleach-up in the last year. But it’s not turned out exactly as I fantasised and I’m getting a bit bored, so now I’m thinking of going red. Still undecided though as I’ve been warned about how long it takes to get red out, so there would be no going proper blonde again for a long time if I don’t like it. Also it’s very short and I don’t want to end up looking like yer wan out of Belle Amie, know the look I mean?! (no offence anyone)

I love the fact she can do so many different looks – and look well doing it! I went through a stage from about 18-22 of dyeing my hair every few weeks, everything from black (if you’re natural blonde, DON’T DO IT) to blue and a lovely green hue but it took so long to get my hair back to its natural colour and it was in such a state, that kinda put me off experimenting. Not sure I can pull anything else off at this stage!

I’m brutal when it comes to my hair… It’s brown and curly, cut into a bob style – very boring! I’ve tried short hair and red highlights but since I’ve put on weight short hair makes me look like a piggy and the red highlights just went blonde after a while (I looked like a skunk!). All I do now is dye it at home to cover the greys and get a trim every 4 months or so…

Wow – I would not have copped that it was the same person!

I’m pretty adventurous, but I’m now stuck in an office, with my plain brown hair (although it’s longer than it’s ever been!) It’s usually some form of bright red (thanks to Schwartzkopf 100% colour!) and the length varies from super short (almost buzz cut) to choppy asymmetrical bob, to straight down to my shoulders with a huge thick fringe! fun fun fun..

Sur if it goes wrong you can always cut/colour over it!!

@Ash I used the Crazy Color Bleaching Kit that I got from Amazon. The hair colour I used is from Crazy Colour as well, which I got from Terrisales. Terrisales didn’t sell me the bleach. They told me that they sell chemicals like that only to hairdressers.

Anyway, my hair is dark brown. On the package it says that it may take from 20 minutes to 90 minutes according to your hair. But you need to check your hair after 20 minutes. And if it’s not as light as you want, you check your hair every 5 minutes to see if it’s done. Although my hair is pretty dark, I was done in 20. And it’s pretty straight forward. You mix the powder and the bleach in the container and apply to your hair with the brush (all equipment are included in the kit).
