Poll: Samantha Brick says women hate beautiful women like her. Do you agree?

Okay, I promised myself I wouldn't get drawn into the whole Samantha Brick schitk.  And not only would I not get  drawn in I promised myself further, I would DEFINITELY, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES write about it.

What can I say other than I am weak?

For those of you who don't know what happened and why Samantha Brick is making huge waves on the Interweb here's the story in a nutshell. She wrote a piece for the Daily Mail saying basically and (and I'm summarising madly, read the full article here) that she is so beautiful that other women are sick with jealously and hate her.

The story went viral.  Twitter went crazy.  The Daily Mail wet its pants with sheer unadulterated glee.  Everyone had an opinion about Samantha Brick and as many of them were personal comments about her appearance the backlash was huge.

Samantha followed up her original article with another one where she reiterated her original statements and and threw in  few more tit like comments (comparing herself to Angelina Jolie etc) and made an appearance on This Morning (watch it above), where she said many more  tit like things (every man in a room will fancy me).  Come on Samantha - you're doing yourself no favours here!

Other newspapers are jumping on the bandwagonand making superior noises about the nastiness of the online backlash and how it is way more ugly than she deserves.  Well maybe.  But isn't that exactly what the Daily Mail wanted?  Didn't they bait the traps, knowing that there were two ways people would jump?

Knee jerk reaction kicks in first and comments about Samantha's looks were - from both men and women - pretty harsh.  But the Daily Mail knew it would be so and thousands fell into the trap,

The second set of reactions was from that group of people whom Samantha claims have let her down so badly - the Sisterhood.  And I will add my voice to theirs.  Samantha: what a load of rubbish.  Women categorically DO NOT hate beautiful women.  They love them.  I have spent five years of my life writing a beauty site and I KNOW women do not think like that.  Women love pretty women.  They get girl crushes.  They want to know what eyeshadow she wears.  How she gets her hair to curl like that.  Where she buys her shoes.

What women do not love is someone who is arrogant and egotistical, who thinks they are better than everyone else.  And that my dear Samantha appears to be you.

The Daily Mail has spawned a new Liz Jones.  I await developements with horror.
