My husband is going a bit grey and I’m delighted. I have always loved silver foxes, even when I was 18. I’m now old enough that it doesn’t seem weird.

A lot of Irish men with that classic black hair and blue eyes colouring look stunning grey, cos they go a very silvery tone.

I now go to a colourist for sun kissed hi lights to make it more natural, I get the lights every 2nd or 3rd time.

So if a man wants to dye his hair he needs to go to a colourist. If he doesn’t that’s fine too. The salt and pepper look is nice too.

When I’m not being a buxoum brunette TV, I actually am one of these salt and pepper type men and have been going white for years now, even to the point where my other hairs on my body are also going white. In that time, not once have I ever considered dyeing it and I never will, it just looks naff. Indeed, I’m actually happy with my hair colour and the fact that I’m not balding; a few of my friends are not as lucky and it does affect their confidence no end. One of my friend has been dyeing his hair some years now while another got a hair transplant and they just don’t

Girls are under a different pressue to look youthful so it’s socially bad to colour up or disguise or minimise the affects of whitening hair. Luckily, girls have the advantage of society being used to them colouring all the time anyway so it’s par for the course and nobody really cares for much. I dated a girl some time back who was almost fully grey since she was 21. Now, she did not look one bit beyond her 28 years, she had fabulously youthful skin and her bottle colour (Sorry, you know what I mean here) suited her perfectly.

Can’t think of any guys that I suspect of dying!! Hubs definitely doesn’t but then he has not much interest in grooming beyond shower/shave/haircut! He is blond so any grey’s not really noticeable yet.

Brother has been mostly bald since age about 25 so shaves his head – no probs for him!!
