hard to believe the olympics is over Have to say I had a blast at it & so glad I went for a full week.. I ended up at all 3 of Katie Taylor’s bouts, lots of irish support, and a large proportion of it was female. I saw a few familiar faces from the irish womens rugby setups at the bouts too, usually leading the singing!
The russian tracksuits were for sale in a shop at the Westfields shopping centre outside the olympic park. The Asic’s shop on oxford street didn’t have a scrap of irish kit. the Team ireland t-shirts were from the Irish olympic House (the big chill pub) in kings cross. The Adidas shop on Oxford street had more variety of women’s clothing for london2012 than the official shop in the olympic park and it was cheaper too !
Next up the Paralympics !! oh yeah and the rugby season kicks off again.

Have to say Spain’s tracksuits were far worse than Russia’s, they were like tackified McDonald’s uniforms.

Only came back from france this morning so didn’t even know about katie til then!! Have been torn between enjoying the hols but well put out that i’ve missed so much of the olympics.

That silver fox, oh em gee, i’d seriously hit that. Louis smith, too young to be that goodlooking and fit. Have admired swimmers, divers and the french male gymnastics team.

The Male swimmers, pure joy to watch, Magnusson, Phelps, Lochte, all absolutely divine creatures!! I keep thinking what will Phelps do in the next month, training over, loads of medals in the bag, what next …??
Of course, Katie is amazing, her dedication and focus is truly inspirational.

Also….award for strange marathon running – the Kenyan girl who kept kicking her legs out to the side, looked v tiring and they are running at about 10mph.

Have all the female athletes had a serious waxing job done before they came to London as the shorts they wear are not very forgiving in that area…what do you think?

Also, maybe I’m the only one – but does anyone else get the thought from watching the Olympics of “what am I doing with my life……wish I was that dedicated to being fit”…..I got that thought the other day after watching Blake running the 100m sprint – he’s the same age as me – and is a world champion and an Olympic medal winner. I clearly have too much time in my hands

Ryan Lochte! I know, I know! – He fits the Jock stereotype to a T, but he’s unreal looking . . .reminds me of a super toned Matthew McConaughey. And beside the douchey personna (http://www.complex.com/style/2012/08/ryan-lochtes-guide-to-looking-like-an-olympic-douchebag/) he actually is a super talented athlete and does seem like a really nice guy. #jeah

And of course serious admiration for Katie Taylor, we are blessed to have such a talented (and incredibly humble)athlete representing our nation…..my heart bursts with pride
