I got my No.7 match foundation recently & was very impressed I am very pale with a warm undertone. Found it very hard to get the right foundation to suit my skin tone, all the pale foundations seem to have a pink under tone which doesn’t look right on my skin. My match was warm ivory (freckles) or cool vanilla. I went with the warm ivory and is very natural on my skin tone. The assistant also gave me a sample which was great before I purchased my foundation. I would highly recommend this service from Boots.

Haven’t tried this yet, but just a quick thing about samples…

When I worked on counters, some companies give you hell for giving them out because they can’t see that it builds repeat custom, just that there was no sale that day, so the SA and MUAs are hesitant (no excuse for rude) in case they are being mystery shopped and will get in trouble.

And also, you’d be amazed how many people come looking freebies with no intention of buying ever and you get stuck dealing with them, watching paying customers who you could be making repeat sales and commission on and it makes you ragey. Unfortunate if you come after one of these freebie-hunters, but god, they would try the patience of a saint!

Loved it matched me with warm ivory the only problem I have with this is that it tends to oxidise and appear darker after a while :/

Got tested last week to Calico so I picked up the beautifully matte. I LOVE IT! love love love love
Its amazing. I do sweat and get all tacky in work and Im constantly rubbing my face due to getting flustered. And it didnt budge. I set it with ELF HD powder and then the next day, with natural collections powder.

I’m looking forward to trying this. Need a 2nd foundation to leave in the boyfriends place, sick of leaving my good stuff behind, this may be the answer.
I really like their BB cream so hopefully the foundation suits as well.

Bit disappointed they’ve changed the €7.50 vouchers tho. They’re now €6 off skincare and €4 off make up!

I haven’t tried this yet as my local Boots does have it, but I had a good look at their new products and was seriously impressed with most things I swatched. I’m trying to limit myself to a €30 budget so I don’t know what to pick, but I’ll have fun deciding! I used to be completely underwhelmed by this line but I’m starting to change my mind.

Have to say, i am dead impressed. i went in today, and to be honest i used to avoid no7 like the plague. it always came out a beautiful shade of jaundiced on me, but there’s obviously been a serious overhaul because the colours are so, so improved. I’m the palest shade, Calico, but it matches quite well. The girl in liffey valley did it just under my jawline, which makes sense, since that’s where you need to blend it in. Colour me impressed!

I got matched to cool beige which is a bit too dark and cool ivory which is a bit ghosty on me. I got the cool beige and mix it with NC15 which turns out perfect. I got the beautifully matte and mix it with MAC studio fix. The nose needs extra powder after lunch time but the rest of my oily face stays lovely. Got mine the Friday it was out in Stephens Green and the girls said they were out of pots for samples so bring some if you have em I’ve always found the makeup counter staff great with giving samples boots floor staff not so great but if they are on a counter like the Clarins or No7 they will even come out & fill a revlon sample for you

Good idea on swatching in the neck…I came out as cool beige and it doesn’t look quite right but I think that might be because I have rosy cheeks. Going to go back after work now and see if they can swatch my neck and see what I get then…

I’m normally pale and since my hols have gone up a couple of notches on the shade side so not having anything close to my new shade I thought I’d try this out – inexpensive and seeing as it will only be a temporary change thought why not? I was very pleased with the formulation and shade that was suggested. I got it in Matte but can’t quite remember the colur but I was very very pleased with it after wearing it. I work long hours and need a foundation that doesn’t melt too badly through the day. I’m very oily so I don’t expect miracles from any make-up now but this was as good as perfect can be. Colour became invisible on my skin,, gave such good coverage that I didn’t need concealer and it hadn’t dissolved by the end of my long day. I’m usually an ELDW wearer, but this beat it and it’s cheaper so I’m certainly not complaining
