thanks ladies for this! I needed a casual jacket for hopping in and out of the car and walking the pupsters round the estate of an evening. Legged it into Pennys for the Puffa jacket above, got it in brown and its lovely!

I got a duvet style one in dunnes last winter, best money I spent. Waterproof, toasty warm with a decent hood. Snuggly on the bus as we speak.

Good ol Penneys & Dunnes are kicking Zara’s ass! Is it just me or have Zara hiked their prices?

Love the look of the Dunnes coat and the military coat from Zara and yes I think Ted Baker is overpriced.

Its a pity having to shell out the extra to get it the right lenght and correct sleeves but with a coat its worth. Just have to make sure the person doing the alterations is good!!!!

Ooh, I love a nice winter coat. I have a biker one from Topshop about 3 years ago and I still love it. I bought a parka in Topshop in London during the summer and it’s about to go back into the wardrobe, need something warmer these days. Completely agree about Ted Baker, they’re high street with extortionate prices.

Too-long sleeves are often a problem for me too – I usually get them taken up the inch or so that’s needed and voila, perfect! Costs a tenner in my local alterations place and it’s well worth it.

Snap!! Lynniedoll, I have exactly the same problem and Next is top of the list for coats(petite of course)………unfortunately sometimes the sleeves can still be a bit long so just have to grin and bear it, it does mean I dont have to but loads of gloves though!! lol
I really like the Zara grey tweedy coat with leather trim. I feel a shoppin’ trip coming on. Have been looking on line for a while now for a good winter coat so this topic was right on time, Thanks!!
