My Mam actually met Liz when she worked in Heatrow airport on ironically the perfume counter , Liz was married to Mike Todd at the time so way before the Burton romance , my Mam said she can vidily remember her because not only was she so stunning in real life ,very petite but her eyes she said were the most amazing colour , pure violet not blue but a purple violet colour ! But yeah my mother said she was so gorgeous and had this charisma about her ,stopped everyone in their tracks They don’t make them liket they use to ……..Linsey Lohan , I dunno maybe if she cops on to herself but I suppose she kinda did live life to the full there for a while a bit like Liz so she’d be able to draw from life experience I suppose

I used to woek in a perfumery. It was the favourite of old wans and ladies of the travelling community.

I quite like it, just think its more of an older persons perfume.

It was a brilliant documentary! She really was a beauty, amazing eyes! I loved the diamond earrings that her husband had copied from her costume jewellery ones. Loved that she wore her tiara because she liked it and didn’t care what anyone thought. Not sure about LiLo being cast to play her in movie….My aunt sent my mum White Diamonds from America when I was a teenagers. It was lovely and I’d always sneak a spray (as if she wouldn’t notice, it’s quite strong), even though I thought it older lady. Would never admit what it was though if anyone asked, ‘dont know what it is, I just sprayed what came to hand’ just as well I didn’t lift furniture polish then

I was glued to this aswell. She was so incredibly beautiful. Loved the way she wore the tiara literally going to the cinema – what a legend.

My mom used to wear white diamonds so it always makes me a bit misty eyed.

I read somewhere that when Richard Burton first laid eyes on La Liz, she was so beautiful that he simply laughed. A truly gorgeous woman, and a very gifted actress too.

It was a fascinating program, that diamond ring was to die for. Not to vulgar for my liking. That was the era of real film stars, the glamour of it all.

I remember my mother going on a trip to america with her sister and buying almost a caseful of White Diamonds perfume. They did a massive hit on the outlet stores and she siad everyone was going mad buying bottles of the stuff so she reckoned she better get some as presents.

I also remember Liz being very coy about the secret to her great skin in a magazine interview. She siad she used a well known budget brand moisturiser, but would not say what it was. Hope that bit of information was gleaned from her before she died.

Aisling, I was about to say the exact same thing in my comment! I was googley eyed and then even more so from All Of The Jewels. Learned that you can use gin to clean one’s diamonds, good to know and I don’t like gin, so not a waste!
